Some observations on differences between the two lists:
-Tsukihime (1 -> 2) and Fate/stay night (2 -> 1) have switched places in popularity.
-Tears to Tiara was added to the list, ranking #22 in popularity. It takes 24th place.
-Kanon also enters the list, popularity #24. It displaces half of the list, entering at #13.
-Figures of Happiness drops off the list (popularity #30) along with Tsukihime Plus+Disc (popularity #28).
-Fate/stay night has the exact same score as before.
-True Remembrance went up from #8 to #7.
-Planetarian dropped from #7 to #8.
-Chaos;Head dropped to #10 from #9.
-Yume Miru Kusuri rose to #9 from #10.
-Narcissu (#12 -> #11) and Utawarerumono (#11 -> #12) also switched places.
-Crescendo fell all the way from #14 to #17.
-Melty Blood, on the other hand, rose from #17 to #15.
-Snow Sakura also dropped, from #18 to #20.

That isn't my opinion. Read the longer Anon posts, that's Asceai bro explaining everything. And he does it quite well. A lot of frustrated Fate/Umineko bros didn't like it then and still don't now.

Is the list a good start in the right direction? As I play through more and more stuff it seems very likely. Shikkoku no Sharnoth was better than Saya, but neither are as good as Umineko. Tsukihime is better than Sengoku Rance, but not as good as Ever17. Baldr Force, so good, but not as good as Kira Kira, etc.

It's probably the most known FAP game available in english, and if you don't play anything else by teh same artist and realize it's all the same shit, it's very hot too.

What most people don't know is that The Sagara Family is actually written by one of the better scenario writers in the eroge industry.

He pretty clearly wasn't in his element with The Sagara Family, because when you compare it to his later work, Kagerou Touryuki (and even his next upcoming work, if the demo is any indication) there's a ridiculous gap between the writing ability.

To be honest I would ever have played Sagara if it wasn't up on dlsite fairly cheaply and if people on the English side of things didn't seem to mind its translated release. The game is rubbish, but the scenario writer is awesome.
