This is what will happen with anyone who uses MIA and all other anti textbook approaches. You will realize that you are lost and you are more likely to quit than making progress.

If he would have used textbooks and did all 2k/3k Kanji with Heisig he would already be able to be decent in Japanese and could easily improve by going through more advanced textbooks.

It's always the same shit if you try to be too fast. Without any textbook as a guide you will end in the middle of the ocean and don't know what to do. It is very tough to get into "real" Japanese from textbooks, but it is nearly impossible to master Japanese without a really good guide.
It's also strange that so many people say that they already "learned a language", but always go full retard with Japanese and say "fuck textbooks! I learn Japanese completely different than I learned my other languages!"

I have particular trouble saying words containing 「ふ」. 「りょう」 is also difficult, making 「フランス料理」 quite a challenge. Also difficult is 「おんな」. The ん just wants to be an English 「n」and refuses to act as a single syllable, though lately I feel like I’m starting to get on top of this one. Finally comes 「ない」. Adding 「です」for some reason makes it manageable but on its own or at the end of a sentence I can’t make 「ない」end cleanly.

I’d be interested to know what words other people find difficult. I’ve been considering lessons on italki and am tying to make a list of vocab to work on.

if you're committed to resizing everything though, you could do the images with imagemagick

if they're in png format, run something like this on the directory:

well the 15 minute test result was my first try and it's essentially just a result i was satisfied enough with to push out the deck, as in the deck has achieved it's goal of covering all jouyou kanji and giving me the writing ability needed to pass it provided i have the knowledge
i am going to take the real test at some point (not soon though, as in not this year because it's not held anywhere but i think i can next year) and when i do take it i will do more real studying taking the full test while expanding my knowledge so i can consistently pass with high or full marks, but that is pointless in this moment as i really want to move on to other things now that the deck is complete
when i prepare for the real kanken i might also do those kanken 3ds livestreams and you can see how i perform live

I am currently working on:

- A Japanese writing deck aiming to teach kanji writing ability on a level equivalent to that of a native speaker. The concrete goal is making a deck that lets you pass the 2級 of the 漢字検定。
Done.

- The animecards.site which introduces people to methods and tools used in the process of learning Japanese as well as showing good practices and recommended options for the various possible tool setups.

After finishing these things I will:

- Work on a new core deck for people who are simply beginning to learn the language. Current core vocabulary decks have a lot of issues which I would like to address just so I can give recommendations to people regarding what they should do with a clear conscious.

- A new pitch accent deck. So far the only real Anki deck focused on pitch accent is the one Yoga code generated from the accent dictionary. Sadly this deck is suboptimal for the process of acquiring pitch accent no matter at what stage you are in your learning. I am still in the process of learning pitch accent myself and figuring out what an optimal deck would look like, but I have a few ideas and I am confident I can implement them.
