From Reikon, a proofreader for MangaGamer on either Da Capo or Suika.

Considering MG's editing schedule, it's pretty much what I expect. They really should add more time and let there be an actual proofreading phase.

>I'm not even that far into it. I just got back the prologue. Also, from what I know, they don't really do a proofread of it. A native English speaker would have easily corrected a lot of the errors. I also doubt the editor tried very hard. There are lots of very obvious mistakes and bad phrasing. I mean come on, they've written the time as "6 thirty" several times. Stuff like that should be easy to spot and fix.

I would support this if it was a release worth supporting. However, I have two major gripes:

1. I detest digital distribution. I don't mind paying 9000 yen for eroge partly because they always come with OST's, art books, and other goodies.

2. The translation is laughable. They are in dire need of native English speakers to proofread this stuff. Right now the game looks like it was run through Babelfish.

There is absolutely no way I'm gonna drop 52 USD on something like this.

What really irritates me if that they're giving such shoddy treatment to quality titles. I used to consider J-List the Evil Empire of the American eroge business, largely because Peter Payne is a dick in person. But at least they polish their work, even if they only ever release shitty titles and consider release schedules to be suggestions. But now I'm starting to think Peter is just the apprentice. The true Sith master is lurking in the Netherlands.

I remember when the heads of Circus came to Anime Expo 2007 to get a feel for the possibility of breaking into the American market. I feel bad for them, know that this is what became of that endeavor.
