Yeah. Same goes for Chinu. Hojo family is a rather shitty bonus, really. You only get Ran and Daidoji, no Soun. In fact, he is already missing. So it's rather good if you want to start the Ran route early and get some points. Or just weaken the Hojos. But otherwise it's shit.
Same goes for Kenshin bonus, because she is the easiest hose to fight.
You should try to get Mori and One Eyed, they are great and relatively easy to get.
Takedas are amazing, but they are major pain in the ass. It took me 200 turns just to catch them all, oh god.

Other Rance games are dungeon crawling RPGs , but not Sengoku. It is mainly a strategy game of turn based kind and only after that a RPG. Sengoku is following a Kichikuou Rance in a way, and Kichikuou was purest TBS.

Their first blitz attack is always horrible. They don't attack that much after that, though their troops are still strong. If you can't slowly start taking them over, then you suck. Probably should have spend more time waiting during the temple incident, so you had more money to buy more troops.
If you care about endgame score, you shouldn't your first game will always end up 0.

Also no, she only has that group scene with Oneeyed, but that's all. And outside of being a one man army best shikigami with fuckawesome stats and one of the most powerful spells in the game, she is kinda useless.

When the demon army blitzes you, do what I did: choose your battles, and give a few up. On the first run, you likely won't be prepared to defend them all. However, you lose nothing if you give up the fight, and you can thus concentrate your stronger units defending and annihilating their units. It feels really good when the Demon Army's turn comes up, and they are down to 2000 total troops.

Also, to beat them, just do a mad rush to take Morocco. Don't bother with taking back lost lands, or anything not in a direct line to Morocco. By this point you should have battle permits, so abuse those if you really want your lost territories back.

You mean Akechi Mitsuhide?

If you really want to use him, use books to up his stats to six, then bully him twice using the sat bonus to get his daughter (who gets +stats).

Same with the other starter, Maeda Toshiie. He can potentially get 9 9 attack/defense in this way.

He gets replaced by his daughter. Not much of a big change, generic-faced male commander is switched with generic-faced female commander. Other than the change of portrait, name, and a bit of a stat increase, no difference.

And again on Maeda Toshiie: Increase his stats to 6's using books. Use the sat bonuses. Surprise, you now have a commander with 9 attack and 9 defense.
