This is the worst scavanger hunt ever. Is there actually anything good about this game?

I started playing the game without a walkthrough, as I do just about any game. However, there was pretty much no sense in doing that since I had no idea what to do, what did what, or where to go.
There seems to be weird shit going on, but apparently you can't do anything about it until you have some item to interact with said weird shit, or the weird shit is just guiding you TO an item.

Thats kinda the whole point. There is no real purpose or story to Yume Nikki. Its just something you experiance. If you can't appreciate it for its own sake, if you need story or action, then you're playing the wrong game.

I used a walkthrough to get all the items (bike + chair hack are necessary imo), then a walkthrough to figure out where all the "cool" areas are. Now I just wander around aimlessly whenever I'm in the mood. It's kind of like taking a virtual walk. It's something you let slowly seep into you over time.
