If your main interest is VN and web, stick to Windows.

If your main interest is serious non-programming professional work and web, get a mac.

If your main interest is recompiling to get basic functionality within a horribly mismatched legacy UI, get linux.

If you want to try out Linux or any of its distros, just use VirtualBox or any virtualization engine so you can try them out on windows. Painless and the emulation is near perfect, right down to networking and external storage.

You can also use it to virtualize another windows so you don't have to say, switch to japanese locale in your "real" windows.

I seriously digress. I see no reason why macs are better for 2D graphic design and low-level 3D design. Much less web design where IE mac renders differently than IE win, and that's the target should still be anyway.

But hey, lots of professionals use macs, so I might be missing something. Or maybe it's just a hip trend.

Touhou runs fine with wine. onscripter (ie Umineko) runs native under Linux.
