Hmm, Ever17, Narcissu, Planetarian, True Remembrance, Red Shift, a ton of those little doujin ones that are on altogether and such, Sengoku Gensokyo, Alice to Eternal, various disposable eroges. I started but never finished Chaos;Head, FSN, Tsukihime, and Gadget Trial. I used to love playing VNs but I don't have the drive to play them anymore, I guess I just lost my passion. I even downloaded Umineko, it's sitting on my flash drive in my drawer. My mom plays VNs more often than I do now.

Okay look -- fact is, the anime designs largely are inferior; not technically, but in the artistry. It fixes the mishapen lumps and stange proportions, but it does so at the expense of the game's wonderfully expressive facial features. You look at Shannon's face, for instance, and in the game you really "get" the feeling of gentle, reserved oneechan meido. You get a strong feel for Battler's sly, grinning kind of needly wit; in the anime, he looks like just a passive bishounen. Maria in the game had this childish but yet cynical and a bit creepy look about her; now she looks (and sounds) like a generic loli. Beatrice had a haughty, somewhat mean, looking-down-on-everyone look which is now....just..."cute girl". Bleh.

Only because of the context the picture was used in. Shittons of faces were reused for completely different atmospheres in the VN, relying on the music and text to bring out the nuances the person might see in the portraits. Animu simply doesn't have that luxury.
