27842475 No.27842475 [Reply] [Original]

I'm starting off with the embodiment of scarlet devil. Apparently the game runs too fast in windowed mode from what people have said, and it seemed to be the case when I ran it that way.
I used 32 bit colors I don't know if that matters or not. I just lowered the resolution on my left monitor in order to make the game appear larger.

Get Vpatch for all the games that have it, that's all you need if you have window 7 or earlier. Also make you sure your early windows game(s) are a clean copy, their are some soiled copies still floating about that, it fuck ups eosd especially. I know their is some fuckery with windows 10 and eosd, though I cant tell you how to fix. http://www.gizoogle.net/ that shit for a fix.

Also, please excuse my bad grammar. Get vsync patch if you have windows 10 too.

your grammar can't be worse than mine.

my game already had vpatch in its folder thankfully, i'll look for the vsynch patch though.
i am really bad at this game so im playing at easy.

Sorry for the confusion, but vpatch and vsync patche are the same thing. Its needed since input lag sucks, plus more resolutions. A quick to tell if its working is to save a replay, view it and play it back hyper speed using the Ctrl key, or just notice the absolute different it makes when playing normally.

oh i see, that makes sense. it seems to be working right so that's good.
i went to the nvidia control settings and forced vsync along with a max framerate. forcing driver level antialiasing makes the game look a bit better though, i thought it looked fine before but i thought i might as well. dunno if there are any downsides to this but no fps drops so far.

example pic is not mine but from some normie site

Forcing the game in nvida control setting shouldn't be necessary since vpatch.exe already does that, it can also set a max fps too. I wonldn't force vsync/fps through the control panel just to be safe. Though adding anti-aliasing shouldn't be a an issue.

A few bugs you might encounter in esod. Sometimes the death sound sfx won't play wen you get hit, making it seem like you didn't get hit by anything (you did). Replays can be out of sync if you play them back on at the start of certain stages, it varies from game to game. You just have to play the replay back from stage one and watch the whole thing to fix it.

Also the earlier windows games and SoEW have MIDI support, that's your think. Use Virtual MIDI Synth with Any soundfount you want. Though Patche93s sc-55 Soundfont, Acachno's SoundFont, and other SC-55 based sound fonts work the best.

I like playing Touhou!

>> No.27849303

I play on Linux using WINE. It works better than Windows 10, especially for the older games. If you're stuck on Windows 10 the best way to play Touhou 6 is to leave all settings in config.exe at default and use the DX8 to DX9 convertor from ENBDev. You shouldn't need to mess with the resolution and fullscreen should work normally.

The MIDIs were made for the SC-88, not SC-55. Best get a cracked copy of the Sound Canvas VA, it can emulate the SC-88 almost perfectly.

Anyone know how to change the controls of EOSD? My left has much better dexterity so I’d prefer to play with wasd instead of the arrow keys.

You've sadly got to use an external program to remap your controls; I recommend autohotkey

there are hololfags that report flanfly threads for being spam. /jp/ is good as dead.

Nothing will happen. People have been saying /jp/ is dead for years. Things will progress as normal in due time. If you continually complain about it instead of making posts that you want to, within reason, then nothing will change.

Be nice for a bit. You don't know who's on the other end.
