I have never played any of the Touhou games. Can anyone answer me some questions?

Is Reimu just a bitch, or is there some other reason she picks fights with everyone in Gensokyo? And she's just a shrine maiden, whatever that even is, so how come she is more powerful than all those youkai (which I assume means spirits or whatever?) I mean, all the people she fights with don't appear to be evil or anything, there aren't really any 'villains' in Gensokyo, or are there? So why does she have to fight all of them?

And why is everyone female? Is that just because the author likes girls?

And uh, if Reimu's not out fighting, does she just laze about in her house (or is that the shrine?) all day? That's what she seems to be doing in all the comics I've seen of her.

Oh and what's this "undead zombie" business? Is she a human or not?

Rather everyone picks fights with her. Youkai love to harass the Shrine Maiden of Hakurei.

They don't fight physically, they fight using a game so Reimu doesn't die. If Reimu dies, Gensokyo collapses. Even the Youkai don't want that.
And Youkai is closer to "demon".

Mostly it's a misunderstanding, but Touhou 11's main enemy (Utsuho Reiuji AKA Okuu) intended to kill everyone on the surface of the Earth.

She self-admittedly does do it for laughs and kicks, but her job is to ensure youkai don't get too bored and do something that isn't easily reversable. It's entertainment for both sides.
