So, I just finished watching 1 Liter of Tears, and now I am thinking of going to medical school. Do you think it is a good idea? I already have a bachelor's degree in business, but I've never had a job.

On a more /jp/ related note. Any other good j-doramas or live action movies? I like Nodame Cantabile, Okuribito and Swing Girls, but didn't like Linda Linda Linda.

Thanks

Sure, you can do the hospital's finances.

So in other words, you've wasted four years of school and probably landed yourself in a nice pile of debt.
On the bright side, doctors make fucktonnes of money.

Polite sage, since my only experience is with Densha Otoko, which I'm sure you've seen.

>> No.2762608

If you go to medical school to become a doctor, enjoy officially starting work at age 40.

sounds boring, like every business job

>>2762594
Only about 50k in debt, and I'm sure some of those classes would be useful. And ya, I have seen Densha Otoko. It was okay, but kind of boring.

>>2762608
I don't think it would take that long, maybe 32.

I would like to just do research, I don't really want to deal with patients, since I hate talking to people and all.

You'll have to take two more years undergrad, at the very least. Probably three.

I think I could get the prerequisites for most programs done in 1-1.5 years. The thing that sucks is I avoided all science classes with labs while I was getting my degree, because I thought I would never need them. I took Chemistry for retards and Oceanography.

>>2762664
eh, after I finish medical school I might want to be a lawyer. If I never stop going to school, I never have to pay it.

>> No.2762733

>>2762712
I hope you don't seriously think that. They DO eventually come after you for them.

>> No.2762730

>>2762712
You can't take a whole bunch of science classes at once, since they are supposed to be taken sequentially.
And that Chemistry probably won't count for anything.
So yeah, you'll have your general electives, but none of the courses for your major.

>> No.2762736

>>2762733
Not as long as I'm taking 6 hours! Or, at least that is what they say.

>> No.2762743

The only bonus is that if you go to the same undergrad school for the premed courses, you won't need to retake gen-ed stuff so that would be fast. But if you aren't determined, the chem and biology stuff will flunk you in no time. Don't rush into anything just for a show.

>> No.2762751

>>2762633
32 is when you get out of school. You are still just an intern for a few years before going off on your own.

>> No.2762753

The one I'm looking at now wants 1 year of Biology, General Chem, Organic Chem, and Physics.

Is general chem a pre-req for organic?

If not, I don't see a problem, besides trying to schedule these 4 classes with 4 labs to go with them. If it is, then I'm fucked, but it will still only take 2 years.

It MIGHT work until you get a degree. However, they might also decide after a certain point in time that you are doing exactly what you are suggesting. I never saw a loan that worked after you completed a track either.

>> No.2762776

>>2762743
I'm going to think about it over the summer. I would be taking the science classes at a community college so they won't be that expensive, and I would consider them a test to see if I was serious enough before paying the big bucks for medical school.

>>2762751
I'm 23 right now, I don't think it'd take 9 years just to get through the college part.

>> No.2762790

I think you have to pursuing a degree, but as long as I am not taking random classes, I think it would be fine. I'd have to look into it of course.

Well if he never makes a payment on one for over 7 years, its wiped from his credit completely. So while they are hunting you down, don't pay and say you don't have to pay because you are still in class. Maybe this will work. But what do I know? I'm just a 19 year old college student on the internet.

At my school, you need Chem I and II before you can take Organic. But it's different for every school, so check the catalog at yours.

Also, so long as you are pursuing a degree, the loan sharks can't do anything to you. But they'll kill you and eat you the minute you get out, so maybe you should consider finding a job.

Right, and on that you are very likely out of your league. They have the same resources the cops have to play with and more, and they aren't exactly bound to the same restrictions.

It really isn't something you want to fuck with.

OP here. I actually have to start paying my school loans this month, and I still don't have a job. That is one of the reasons I am considering going back to school, but not my only reason.

My sister has been telling me to go to law school, but law seems even less interesting than accounting, which my degree is in. She also suggested being an eye doctor, since their job seems really easy ("Read the lowest line you can"), but like I said, I don't like dealing with people, so I'd prefer research. I'd like to cure the uncurable.

Go out on a "Camping" trip for 7 years. Stay out of the system and don't leave a paper trail. Make sure you have a nice body and freelance at stip clubs for quick cash. If you're ugly, suck dicks for money(lots of them :D).
Explore the country while you avoid these people. Come back out a free man and start practicing medicine.

Does the 7 years thing really work?

Like maybe if your debt is small but if its a shitton then they might consider keeping the record.

Did a little research. It looks like for government loans, they can withhold your tax returns and garnish your wages to get their money. So I guess you would pretty much have to pay them. Unless you worked under the table.
