i read one and the moral was, the director adapted the anime somewhat differently, and it should be taken as a standalone show from the manga

people who read the mnaga were often like BAWWWW THEY CHANGED IT, but the director had no intention to keep it, and the change isnt actually BAD if the show is taken as a standalone from the manga, its just a different show

I havn't seen Bokurano, but I heard /a/ complain about it all the time before the split, and the only show I've seen by Gonzo that could be considered in any sense good was Welcome to the NHK, and that was mostly because the source material was too awesome to fuck up. Even then, the animation was choppy and varied quality, even if the writing and soundtrack made up for it.

Gonzo tends to make awesome original content and horrid adaptations.

Kaleido Star, Red Garden, and Last Exile were great.

Hellsing, Gantz, parts of Chrono Crusade, RomeoXJuliet, Rosario, etc are shit.

The only good adaptations are Gankutsuou and NHK. I also enjoyed Chrono Crusade, but it's more of a 'first fansubbed anime' thing, not an 'actually good' thing. Everything after Satella's butler kicks it sucks ass, apart from Rosette and Chrono's death scene at the end of the series. Almost made me cry, it did.
