KS threads are created by the devs, no doubt about it. When I imagebombed one of their threads when it became unbearable, they went on IRC and grabbed a janitor. There is no way anybody would get butthurt enough to do that besides for the KS devs. And also, they've admitted to making threads here before. It's also pretty easy to spot a KS dev because they defend their shitty game and bitch about "conspiracyfags".

I couldn't care less about KS, but if they want to create KS threads you're in no position to stop them. You are not our spokesperson and your opinion means nothing to me. moot said /jp/ is for the stuff that lacks its own board. This unfortunately includes Touhou, figs, and Visual Novels. If you have a problem with it email moot. Also, if the mods/janitors didn't want these threads here it would have been banned months ago.

I guess I'm more offended by your stupidity than the KS devs. My fellow channers finally managed to get off of their asses and create something of value, and here you are insulting them. KS was created by westerners, it's NOT supposed to be on the same level of the VNs that were created by the easterners (that have had decades of experience in this industry).

tl;dr Shut up or leave. No one is forcing you to stay here. If you don't like these threads close them. Or better yet, download the 4chan filter and start blocking them:

KS is a visual novel - thus it belongs on /jp/. There's no getting around that. I don't care if it's the most shitty VN of all time, it still belongs here. Unless you can debunk this fact your opinion is invalid. Go ahead and report some KS threads and watch in amazement how they don't disappear.

I think part of the problem is that there's no clear place to discuss KS and while it might not be true for everyone, personally I hate having to hide five million KS threads on three or four different image boards.

4chan should be closed for a week so the most ronrey hikkis will kill themselves without it, then it'd be that much more civil in here. Honestly, this shit is not important enough for the rage storm it's created.

The water supply and sanitation sector in Ghana faces severe problems, partly due to a neglect of the sector until the 1990s. Tariffs were kept at a low level which was far from reflecting the real cost of the service. Economic efficiency still remains below the regional average, resulting in a lack of financial resources to maintain and extend the infrastructure.[9] Since 1994, the sector has been gradually modernized through the creation of an autonomous regulatory agency, introduction of private sector participation, and decentralization of the rural supply to 138 districts, where user participation is encouraged. The reforms aim at increasing cost recovery and a modernization of the urban utility Ghana Water Company Ltd. (GWCL), as well as of rural water supply systems.[10]

Danse de la Chèvre (Dance of the Goat) H. 39 is a piece for solo flute by Arthur Honegger, written in 1921 as incidental music for dancer Lysana of Sacha Derek's play La Mauvaise Pensée. At the start of the piece, there is a slow dreamlike introduction consisting of tritone phrases. This soon unwinds into the “goat-like” theme in a chromatically altered F major in 9/8 that skips along providing the clear picture of a dancing goat. Following this theme is a more melodic theme or idea that gives off a more calming feeling. The goat theme and the calm theme both reoccur once again, and at the end of the piece the slow dreamlike idea returns and closes off the piece with a soft and quiet harmonic C for resolution. It is approximately three and a half minutes long. The piece is approximately ABRSM grade eight standard and can also be found on the ABRSM flute diploma syllabus.

I don't know about you, but I'm honestly worried with some of the posts here. It's the sort of twisted logic you'd expect from kids on outer sites, youtube comments and post-split /a/.

There's no reason to believe there are KS devs in every thread, nor to spam your way into acceptance. Katawa Shoujo is /jp/ related regardless of its quality or development history, and it deserves at the very least a single contained thread. It's the degree of respect we give to other /jp/ topics that you might dislike.
It's a mature solution, and it's what /jp/ has done from its inception. Tolerate what is related to the board but not of your personal liking. Otherwise, we let this place turn into the current /a/.

The Perseus Cluster (Abell 426) is a cluster of galaxies in the constellation Perseus. It has a red shift of 5,366 km/s and a diameter of 863′.[1] The galaxy cluster is the brightest cluster in the sky when observed in the X-ray band[2].

The cluster contains the radio source 3C 84 which is currently blowing bubbles of relativistic plasma into the core of the cluster. These are seen as holes in an X-ray image of the cluster, as they push away the X-ray emitting gas. They are known as radio bubbles, because they appear as emitters of radio waves due to the relativistic particles in the bubble. The galaxy NGC 1275 is located at the centre of the cluster, where the X-ray emission is brightest.

The Warburg Institute is a research institution associated with the University of London. A member of the School of Advanced Study, its focus is the study of the influence of classical antiquity on all aspects of European civilization.
The Institute was founded by Aby Warburg (1866–1929), a student of Renaissance art and culture. Warburg became dissatisfied with a purely stylistic approach to art history and grew interested in a more interdisciplinary approach. While studying the culture of Renaissance Florence, he grew interested in the influence of antiquity on modern culture, and, while a professor at the University of Hamburg, built up his personal library around the question.

Warburg was joined by his fellow professor Fritz Saxl (1890–1948), who transformed Warburg's collection into a scholarly institute, the Kulturwissenschaftliche Bibliothek Warburg, affiliated to the University of Hamburg. In 1934, under the shadow of Nazism, the institute was relocated from Hamburg to London. In 1944 it became associated with the University of London, and in 1994 it became a founding institute of the University of London's School of Advanced Study.

Vector Analysis is a book on vector calculus first published in 1901 by Edwin Bidwell Wilson. Its subtitle is "A Text-book for the use of students of mathematics and physics, founded upon the lectures of J. Willard Gibbs Ph.D. LL.D." This textbook did much to standardize vocabulary and notations for description of three-dimensional linear algebra in the twentieth century. It was reprinted in 1913, 1916, 22, 25, 29, 31, and 1943. In 1960 Dover Publications began to print and distribute this enduring textbook. It is now available on-line (see link below).

Willi Landgraf (b. August 29, 1968 in Mülheim an der Ruhr) is a retired German soccer player, last playing for the amateurs of Schalke 04.
He is the record holder of games played in the Second Bundesliga with 505 games. He notably never played a single game in the Bundesliga. Most of Landgraf's games were for Rot-Weiß Essen and for Alemannia Aachen.

Landgraf was well-known for his honest, blue-collar approach to soccer and was regarded as a great fan favourite even of fans who did not follow his teams.

At age 37, he seemed to finally achieve his dream of playing his first Bundesliga match, when his club Alemannia Aachen were promoted. However, Landgraf (who had been benched most of the season because his younger rival outplayed him) declined to hang on as a "mercy player" and went to the amateurs of Schalke 04, and intends to make his trainer's license.

Hate sex is consensual sexual intercourse that occurs between two people who strongly dislike or annoy each other. It is related to the fact opposition between two people can heighten sexual tension, attraction and interest. The polarity generated by a man who demonstrates comfort with, and lack of neediness for, a woman by verbally pushing her away, even playfully teasing her and issuing negs (similar to the Mystery Method) can play into this.

Transilvanian Hunger is the fourth album by Norwegian black metal band, Darkthrone. Released in 1994, it was the band's first album to be recorded with just two members, Nocturno Culto (guitars and vocals) and Fenriz (drums). The band would remain a duo from this point onwards. However they claim that this record is somewhat atypical for Darkthrone, since it is much faster, more simplistic, and it was made with a very "raw" or "low fidelity" recording style.

The back cover of the album states that "Darkthrone is for all the evil in man". Allmusic notes that the album, "boasts plenty of notoriety in the metal underground," and that it has been a great influence on many black metal bands.

>Idolthreads are tolerated, including kig threads. Why? Because despite the content they never made a bad first impression on the rest of us by being shit posters like KS fags on the few days of demo release.

This is the most childish debate I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing on /jp/. I'll say this one last time. The rules are the rules. I don't care if the KS devs raped your sister and kicked your dog, as long as moot's sticky >>2743790 says /jp/ is for Visual Novels, your opinions, arguments, and feelings are invalid. Most KS threads receive 200+ replies. If the mods were deleting KS threads we would have noticed it by now. The only person complaining here is you. If it bothers you this much email moot and ask him to ban KS. (Because as of now, the mods couldn't care less about your opinions).

I don't mind if you insult KS, just don't start distorting /jp/'s rules. In the end, your opinions don't matter. We could all one day (universally) agree that fig threads shouldn't belong here, yet UNTIL moot makes a post with big bloody letters saying it doesn't belong here our opinions don't matter. And again, go ahead and report KS threads if you think they don't belong here. Notice how the mods disagree with your distorted opinion. Have you reported this thread yet? Hmm, I wonder why it's still here? Could it be because you are wrong?

Now if you were making this argument on /a/ I might agree with you. moot said "/a/ is for Anime & Manga." While /jp/ is for "all of the fringe (otaku) bullshit that *lacks its own board."

Hannelore Schmatz of West Germany, was born on 16 February 1940. She perished of exhaustion on October 2, 1979 as she was returning from successfully summiting Mount Everest via the southern route, the first woman and first German citizen to perish on the upper slopes of "Chomolungma."[1]

Schmatz was on an expedition via the South East Ridge route with her husband when she died at 8,300 meters (27,200 ft). Gerhard Schmatz was the expedition leader, fifty years of age at the time and the oldest man to summit Everest. On the same expedition was the American Ray Genet, who also died while descending from the summit.

In 1984, police inspector Yogendra Bahadur Thapa and Sherpa Ang Dorje fell to their deaths while trying to recover Hannelore’s body on a Nepalese police expedition.[2][3][4]

For years, Hannelore's mortal remains could be seen by anyone attempting to summit Everest by the southern route. About 100 meters above Camp IV she sat, leaning against her pack with her eyes open and her hair blowing in the wind. [5] High winds eventually pushed her remains over the edge and down the Kangshung Face.

Lene Gammelgaard, the first Scandinavian woman to reach the peak of Everest, quotes the Norwegian mountaineer and expedition leader Arne Næss, Jr. describing his encounter with Schmatz's remains, in her book Climbing High that tells the account of her own 1996 expedition.

>> No.2744207 [DELETED]

Wow. I usually try not to post in trollfests because it's just feeding them (most of /jp/ probably does the same thing), but this is just dumb, and it's spilling into non-KS threads. A recent-history lesson for the newcomers: /jp/ was created because moot wanted people to stop posting non-anime/manga on /a/, specifically because of Touhou and visual novels. Instead of making a board called "/tvn/ - Touhou/Visual Novels" (because they're completely unrelated) he made /jp/. Visual novels are not anime. Visual novels are not manga. As such, they do not belong on /a/, so says moot. It is a visual novel, so it belongs in the board made for visual novels, /jp/. You may take the idiot's way out and say "but it's not made in Japan", which is correct, however, it IS a visual novel and visual novels are Japanese, which is why it is relevant. It is certainly more relevant to /jp/ than it is to anime or manga, both of which imply it being not only japanese, but either a comic or a cartoon, none of which it is.

Now what you have to realize is that if you don't like something, you don't have to post in the thread. I've never posted in an idol thread, I've never posted in a Umineko thread, I've never even posted in a KS thread until now. Only a bitter faggot/troll goes out of his way to shit up a thread, regardless of his real opinion on the subject. Contrary to what the one samefag in this thread repeatedly said, this is not "how we roll". This is how other boards roll, and it is why I do not even bother going to other boards. Shitposters, you do not belong here. Leave, go back to whatever board you came from and do not come back.

Don't forget that the Japanese translation for the full game has been out for a while, so once the installer is done for the demo, it'll be much faster to get it running with the full game.

Update: Some issues with Windows 2012 are causing delays, but don't worry, I'll straighten them out soon.

Update: Finished and released! It'll now install to your rice cooker, and even to your computer.

Update: Ouch. Please don't install the recent update as it will CORRUPT YOUR SAVES and also might erase the save files of every game you have ever played. Fix will be up in about a week. Sorry if you lost any data ;_;

Most /jp/ers are individualist that would never be able to put their differences aside to support the collective. How is it that they have such a strong sense of team work and/or unity?

I truthfully believe they're the type of otakus that read anime blogs and frequent animenewsnetwork. Of all the different subdivisions of nerds we Anonymous are very unique. And this is not to say we are better than any other breed of nerds out there. Another example to support my theory is their wholesome story. I was the one who put forward the reality marble statement and I don't agree that projects are a bad thing. Plenty of 'normalfags' browse 4chan, in fact most of us probably are pretty normal, and the point I was trying to make is that our abnormal identities on 4chan are generally not representative of who we are elsewhere on the internet.

Projects tend to need a 'little' distancing from 4chan to take cohesive form, as the necessity of things like names to keep track of who is doing what is contrary to the idea of this site. We can't apply our rules to those outside the site (even if they are often anons) any more than they can apply their rules here.

I've done dev work, and I usually have anon somewhere in my name, but it isn't an offense to not do so.

As everybody knows, according to the views propagated by the Western scholars, the humanity of the whole world originated from one single mother in Africa; therefore, no race can claim to possess racial superiority. However, according to the research conducted by the majority of Chinese scholars, the Chinese are different from other races on earth. We did not originate in Africa; instead, we originated independently in the Chinese land. The Beijing man in Zhoukoudian that we are all familiar with represents a phase of our ancestors¡¯ development. ¡°The Project of Searching for the Origins of the Chinese Civilization¡± that are currently undertaken in our country is aimed at a more comprehensive research on the origin, process and development of the ancient Chinese civilization. We used to say, ¡°Chinese civilization has had a history of five thousand years.¡± Nowadays, many experts engaged in researches in various fields such as archeology, ethnic cultures, regional cultures and histories have come to the consensus that the new discoveries such as Hongshan Culture in the Northeast, Liangzhu Culture in Zhejiang, Jinsha Ruins in Sichuan, Yongzhou Shun Emperor Cultural Site in Human have served to clarify the living status of China¡¯s early civilizations and prove that just China¡¯s rice agricultural history can be traced back as early as 8,000 to 10,000 years, making the saying of ¡°five thousand years of Chinese civilization¡± something obsolete. Therefore, we can assert that we belong to cultural roots of more than a million years, civilizations and progresses of more than ten thousand years, an ancient nation of five thousand years, and a Chinese entity of two thousand years.

This is the Chinese nationality that calls itself ¡°descendents of Yan and Huang,¡± the Chinese nationality that we are so proud of. If back then Hitler¡¯s Germany bragged that the German race was the most superior race on the earth, we can say that our nationality is much more superior than they.

Because of the long history of our people, our people have disseminated throughout Americas and the regions along the Pacific Rim, including Indians in Americas and the East Asian ethnic groups in the South Pacific.

We all know that because of the superiority of our race, during the strong and prosperous Tang Dynasty, our civilization was at the peak of the world; we were the center of the world civilization, and no other civilization in the world was comparable to ours. Later on, because of our complacency, narrow-mindedness, and the self-enclosure of our own country, we were surpassed by the Western civilization, and the center of the world civilization shifted to the West.

All these steps marked major development of Marxism, reflecting our Party¡¯s courage and wisdom. As we all know, Marx and his followers have never referred to any communist party as a pioneering team of a certain people; neither did they say that national rejuvenation could be used as a slogan of a communist party. Even Comrade Mao Zedong, a courageous national hero, only raised high the banner of ¡°the global proletarian revolution;¡± he did not have the audacity to give priority to the slogan of national rejuvenation.

We must raise high the banner of national rejuvenation and greet the arrival of the Chinese Century. How should we fight for the realization of the Chinese Century? We must learn from the precious experiences in human history, take advantage of outstanding fruition of human civilization, and draw lessons from what happened to other ethnic groups.

The lessons include the collapse of communism in the former Soviet Union and East Europe as well as the defeats of Germany and Japan back then. Recently there has been much discussion on the lessons of the collapse of communism in the former Soviet Union and East European countries, so I will not talk about them here. Today I¡¯d like to talk about the lessons of Germany and Japan.

As we all know, Nazi Germany also placed much emphasis on the education of the people, especially the young generation. The Nazi party and government organized and established various propaganda and educational institutions such as ¡°the Guiding Bureau of National Propaganda,¡± ¡°the Department of National Education and Propaganda,¡± ¡°the Supervising Bureau of Worldview Study and Education¡± and ¡°News Office,¡± all aimed at instilling into the people¡¯s mind, from elementary schools to colleges, the idea that German people is the most superior people and convincing people that the historical mission of the Arian people is to become ¡°the King of earth¡± that ¡°rules over the world.¡± Back then the German people had a much stronger sense of solidarity than what we have now.

However, Germany was defeated in utter shame, and Japan that allied itself with it was also defeated in utter shame. Why? We drew up some conclusions at the study meetings of the Political Bureau, in which we were searching for the laws that governed the vicissitudes of big powers and trying to sum up the experience of Germany and Japan¡¯s rapid growth. When we make up our mind to rejuvenate China according to the German model, we must not repeat the mistakes they made.

Specifically, there are a few basic causes for their defeat. First, they had too many enemies, for they did not adhere to the principle of eliminating enemies one at a time; secondly, they were too impetuous, lacking in patience and perseverance required for great accomplishments; thirdly, when the time came for them to be ruthless, they turned out to be too soft, therefore leaving troubles that resurfaced later on. Let¡¯s presume that back then Germany and Japan had been able to make the United States remain neutral and had waged a protracted war at the Soviet front.

>> No.2745115

If they had adopted this policy, gained some time for their researches, eventually succeeded in obtaining the technology of nuclear weapons and missiles, and launched sudden attacks against the United States and the Soviet Union using nuclear weapons and missiles, then the United States and the Soviet Union would not have been able to defend themselves and would have had to surrender. The little Japan, in particular, made an egregious mistake in launching the sudden strike at Pearl Harbor. This attack did not hit the vital parts of the United States; instead it dragged the United States into the war, into the ranks of gravediggers that eventually buried the German and Japan fascists. Of course, if they had not made these three mistakes and won the war, history would have been written in a different fashion. If that had been the case, China would not be in our hands. Japan might have moved their capital to China and the Japanese would be the masters of China. Later on, China and the whole Asia under Japan¡¯s command would have brought into full play the oriental wisdom, conquered the West ruled by Germany and unified the whole world. This has been nonsense, of course. No more digressions.

Therefore, fundamentally, the reason for the defeat of Germany and Japan is that history did not assigned them as ¡°kings of the earth,¡± because in fact they are not the most superior races.

Apparently today¡¯s China is very similar to Germany back then, and these similarities are stunning historical repetitions. Both of them regard themselves as the most superior races; both of them have a history of being exploited by foreign powers and are therefore very vindictive; both of them have the traditional of worshipping authorities; both of them feel that they have seriously insufficient living space; both of them raise high the two banners of nationalism and socialism and label themselves as ¡°national socialism;¡± both of them worship ¡°one state, one party, one leader, and one ¨Cism.¡±

However, if we compare Germany and China on a realistic basis, then as Comrade Jiang Zemin put it, Germany belongs to ¡°pediatrics.¡± How much is Germany¡¯s population? How big is its territory? And how long is its history? We spent only three years before we eliminated the eight million strong Nationalist military forces. How much of their enemies did Germany eliminate? They were in power for a transient period of little more than a dozen years before they perished, while we are still energetic after struggling for more than eighty years. The theory of the shifting center of civilization that we put forward is of course more profound than the Hitler¡¯s theory of ¡°the earthly king.¡± Our civilization is profound and broad, which has determined that we are brighter than they were.

>> No.2745133

We Chinese are brighter than the Germans because, fundamentally speaking, our race is superior to theirs. That is why we have a longer history, more population and more territory. On this basis, we ancestors left us two priceless traditional treasures: atheism and great unity. The founder of our Chinese culture was Confucius.

These two priceless traditional treasures have been decisive in determining that we are more viable than the West. That is why the Chinese people have prospered for such a long time, and we are bound to survive no matter how devastating natural disasters, man-induced catastrophes, and national calamities are. This is our advantage. Let¡¯s illustrate this point with exigencies such as wars. The United States remains intact today because its homeland has never been devastated by war. Once its enemy targeted its homeland, the enemy would have entered Washington DC when the U.S. Congress finished its prolonged debates and authorized its president to declare the war. As for us, we don¡¯t have to dispute over trifles. As Comrade Xiaoping put it, ¡°The Party¡¯s leadership should make a quick decision. When the decision is made, it should be carried out. We should not go through the endless disputes that are common in capitalist countries. This is our advantage.¡± Our Party¡¯s system of democratic centralism is founded upon the tradition of great unity. Although the fascist Germany also emphasized high-degree centralism, their power was concentrated on the prime minister, and they neglected the collective leadership of the center as teamwork. That is why later Hitler found himself abandoned and betrayed by almost everybody, which fundamentally enervated the war capability of the Nazi Party.

>> No.2745134

The reason we are different from Germany is that we are complete atheists while Germany used to a Catholic and later a Protestant country, and Hitler was only a 50% atheist. Hitler believed that ordinary people have low intelligence and the leader should make decisions, and the German people back then worshipped Hitler; however, Germany does not have China¡¯s long-lasting tradition of widespread worship of ¡°saints.¡± The reason our Chinese society has long upheld ¡°saints¡¯ as objects of worship is that we don¡¯t worship any god. When you worship gods, it is impossible for you to worship man, unless you acknowledge someone as a representative of God, just like some countries in the Middle East. Once you acknowledge someone as a saint, then you have to allow him to become your leader. You are not supposed to supervise or select a leader. And this is the foundation of our system of democratic centralism.

Therefore, ultimately, it is our China only, not Germany, that can pose as a reliable force to counterbalance the system of parliamentary democracy of the West. The emergence of a Hitler-style dictatorship in Germany might have been a historical misunderstanding.

By now you may begin to understand why we made the decision recently to further our atheistic propaganda. If we allow the Western theism to flood China and replace our cultural essence, if the public in China all listen to God and follow God, then who are willing to listen to us and follow us? If ordinary people here do not believe that Comrade Jintao is a qualified leader and begin to cast doubt over his ability or to ask to monitor his job, just as the churchgoers in the church cast doubts on us, asking us why we should control their church and replace their God with our leadership, then how can our Party continue to lead China?

Germany failed in its attempt to be ¡°King of the Earth.¡± Fundamentally, it is because history did not endow them with this historical mission. However, from the Germans¡¯ experience of those years provide we can draw three lessons to facilitate our endeavor to accomplish our historical mission and realize our national rejuvenation: i.e. we should come to firm grips with the issue of the people¡¯s living space, with the leadership as a ruling party, and with the orientation of becoming ¡°the King of the earth.¡± These three issues should always be kept in our mind.

As always this is moot's fault. Let me elaborate. The trolls from earlier were arguing that KS isn't /jp/ material. If moot and/or a moderator could come out and publicly announce that KS is /jp/ material it would cut down on half of the trolls that are attracted to these threads. Another example of moot's blatant disregard for civility is the rules he set for /jp/:

"/jp/ - All things Japan are welcomed." Which is a contradiction of his sticky where he said "/jp/ will be a board for all of the fringe bullshit from /a/ that _lacks its own board." So which rules should we follow? Can we make j-rock threads on /jp/ or are they not allowed because they already have their own board (-> /mu/).

At the end of the day all it serves to do is make the moderators and janitors job's much harder. Honestly, how hard would it be for moot to make a sticky saying /jp/ is for: Visual Novels, Touhou, doujin games, nico, neta, 2ch, idolm@ster, idols, j-dramas, figs, and work safe eroge discussions?

moot generally doesn't seem to be a fan of specific boundaries, concrete guidelines, and especially stickies. He wants to leave it up to the userbase for the most part. /jp/'s official rules are about as vague as it gets, but we've developed our own culture and "unwritten rules" through daily activity. It gets tricky sometimes, but the hands-off approach is much better than a sticky that says "idolm@ster, touhou, and meltan only ok." It is best to err on the side of inclusiveness on an official basis and allow the community to make what they want of it.

"Make what they want of it" means choosing to reply to a thread or ignoring it. Spamming isn't user moderation. It's just being a disruptive dick.

I wonder what would happen if moot took the "Japan" out of /jp/.

Thanks to our small userbase we've managed to survive with little guidance from the law, but what will we do two years from now once our immigration is as big as /a/ and /v/s'. What's to stop the guest of tomorrow from making jr Idol, j-rock, and japanese fashion threads? /jp/ in my opinion already has enough topics as it is. You do realize that /visual novels/ and /touhou/ alone are technically big enough to support their own boards. A *little rules wouldn't hurt anything. As of right now the only thing we can use for guidance is moot's sticky where he said "/jp/ is for the otaku stuff that *lack their own boards." This does a pretty good job of keeping out the sushi and j-rock threads.

I'd say /jp/ is a decent board, along with /m/. I don't think we're up to /tg/'s level, but I would say that /jp/ is still one of the better ones.

This is pretty close to the mark. Keep in mind that BACK IN THE DAY when this site was 4chan.net and /b/ moved just as slow as /jp/ does now, it wasn't such a bad board. But it grew. And it got worse. So we went to /a/. And it grew. Now we're here.

And I like it here.

Anon, I think you are missing the whole point of this board. If it is of japanese sources, it is welcome here. Idols? Food? Places? Language (specific tough topics that might need help on how to translate)? VN? Eroges?

They are all welcome here. In fact, I see too many Touhou/TM/Whatever trendy garbage threads all the time. When I see someone post about rare/old games, interesting movies or dramas, it is sight for sore eyes.

>> No.2747535

Maybe there should be some actualy /jp/ mods for /jp/. Or even just janitors. Hell, I'm here a lot of the time anyway, I wouldn't mind.

Food? /ck/
Places? /trv/

Hmm... So posters like you are here as regulars too?
Why do you even bother checking /jp/ if you aren't interested in what's discussed 99% of the time?
Also I don't think anyone is debating that VNs/eroge/idols(SIGH) don't belong here.

>What's to stop the guest of tomorrow from making jr Idol, j-rock, and japanese fashion threads?
I don't mind any of these threads. I sure as hell wouldn't reply to that shit, but if other people want to discuss them, then go ahead. Of course, all of these threads have been attempted many times before, but there's a reason why they aren't staples of /jp/ discussion: nobody cares. Well, Jr. Idols are banned, but the other two just don't have the following and people don't respond to those threads. That's user moderation in action. What was your problem again?

God's in his heaven, all's right with the world.

It'd be nice if we discussed it from time to time; /a/ just talks about Bleach nowadays and wikispams anything good.

Pidgeonholing is ridiculous. A limited degree of board crossover is healthy and keeps things fresh. Once again, it is best to be inclusive to a reasonable degree, and let posters respond to the topics that interest them. Most of the weak material is naturally weeded out due to a lack of serious interest. That's why you never see recurring threads about Japanese shrines or sushi or whatever.

I disagree. As moot said in his sticky /jp/ is a board for the stuff that _lack their own board. Japan unfortunately is a BIG topic. If we were allowed to discuss everything from Japan (--> tentacle rape, jr idols, politics) /jp/ would have the third most topics behind /r9k/. Trust me, we don't want board anarchy.

Let me ask you a question. Why do we even have boards like /ck/, /an/, /mu/, and /fa/ when people like you refuse to post on them? If we're going to be making threads about Japanese birds shouldn't moot pull the plug on /an/? If we only discuss Japanese fashion on /jp/ shouldn't moot axe /fa/?

Well, I only said that because the mods apparently hate jr idols. Back in the early days of /jp/ the mods were literally handing out permabans left and right for anybody that dared to post a jr idol thread. I guess it's too close to western child modeling for their taste.

If you look closely, you'd see that posts were deleted no matter the content. Now unless it there was some major samefagging going on and there was a ban, it's just a rage purge.

And really, public mod support for anything outside of an active high interest thread (i.e. sticky for major events) is retarded.

>> No.2747600

/jp/ was created specifically for touhou. then he said that vns were allowed as well. It becomes what it is today, touhou and vns.

while most of the time /jp/ is circle jerk and hate on popular vns it still has a certain charm that nearly every board has lost. i can't even go to /a/ anymore unless it's a jojo thread.

Now that I think about it, you're kinda right. I guess technically as long as we have user moderation we don't need hundreds of rules.

The focus, atmosphere, and culture are alien to us on those boards. It's ok to have an occasional second perspective on things, especially when it falls within the overall official boundaries of the board. If nobody cares, it doesn't get discussed. But people may find it interesting if you don't. Ignore the thread. It's not like it's seriously cutting into the "real" /jp/ matrial. How many food, animal, and fashion threads have you seen here today?

And Japanese bird is just a bot, you silly, you.

>The focus, atmosphere, and culture are alien to us on those boards.
That's because you never post on them, silly. For example, if more /jp/ers were to post on /tv/ then maybe you could get a chance to talk about those /jp/ movies you love so much. The same thing goes for /ck/ and /fa/.

Oh, and I'm fully aware of Russia's bot. The Jap bird was meant to be a pun.

Well, I wasn't talking about the deletions from earlier. 30 minutes after the thread cooled down a few positive replies got deleted for no apparent reason. I guess our janitor must be feeling trigger happy or something.

>And really, public mod support for anything outside of an active high interest thread (i.e. sticky for major events) is retarded.
Maybe not a sticky, but how hard would it be for a mod/admin to use their capcode to tell people KS is /jp/ material. This thread received 500+ replies as a result of the confusion of a user that believed KS only belonged on /a/. And no I'm not saying the mod should say "KS is /jp/ material" in every thread. One post from a moderator would do the trick, then we (the users) could screencap it and prevent 500+ reply shitstorms like this from happening again.

I mean sticky as in event stickies like if Comiket was to roll around, there'd be a sticky for people to post things uploaded to the net. You know, 'functioning stickies'.

For the rest, why should KS get special treatment? The fact that it's on /jp/ without being deleted should be enough. It's a waste of time for the moderators to create an exhaustive list of each and every viable /jp/ topic.

Shitstorms only happen when people go back and forth so if you really want to prevent them from happening, just don't respond back. Just continue talking about what you want to talk about.

wut? Why is someone moderating this thread? Since when is KS important? Corruption everywhere

>> No.2748074,1 [INTERNAL]

wow after reading some of the deleted posts I can't tell you how disgusted I became. /jp/ destroying itself, some motherfuckers even demanded moderation in our nice little board, because some shitty topic that nobody wants or needs got trolled? What the fuck is wrong is you? Maybe you should leave this board, you are obviously a gigantic faggot and a normalfag. We don't want you here.

>> No.2748074,2 [INTERNAL]

Maybe a mod should start deleting posts that troll F/SN. Or maybe there should be a sticky telling people not to troll it.

This is /jp/. Shit gets trolled. Yes it can be annoying but that's just how it is. No other fanbase complains nearly as much about trolling as KS's. You guys are so easily trolled that it's no wonder people troll KS so much.

There's a KS fanbase on /jp/?
I thought we just hated the threads because they got posted so often and were comprised solely of /a/-grade posts.
