More like...

Battler + Beato + Virgilia + MARIA + Eva-Beatrice + Seven Sisters + Sakutaro + Siesta Sisters + King Pendragon + All of the Goats + All 72 Demons of Hell vs. Lambdadelta, Witch of Certainty + Bernkastel, Witch of Miracles

>> No.2714122

Magic exists.

However, none of the murders involved magic.

The whole game was devised by Lambadelta to keep Bernkastel trapped for all eternity. It was necessary for the murders to not involve magic so that Battler could actually win, or else there would be no game. But the murders would be devised in such a way that Battler would never be able to figure them out, thus keeping the game in a stalemate for all time.

In the end Battler wins. Everyone is revived and they have a fiesta. The End.

Nanjo used drugs and Gohda poisened all with his dinner, so they all see hallucinations.

And Kinzo was jewish.

Magic doesn't exist "yet", it can only exist if enough people in the island believe in it. You can't get affected by magic if you don't believe in witches. All murders are mundane, that's Beatrice's test. Battler is throwing a wrench in things as usual.

It will probably cover Ep3, since it's Umineko's " exceptional culprit" arc, like Watanagashi was in Higurashi.

Anti-fantasy doesn't mean a stance that ignores fantastic scenes or leaves them.
Anti-fantasy have to regard all fantastic scenes as hints for the real world, and have to find some ways to explain them with "human logic."

And Ryuukishi07 has said that we can approach the answer with the world view we have already seen.
He said, "for example, I haven't hidden settings such as 'George and Shannon are not lovers and they are cold-blooded people who are planning to become the next head of Ushiromiya family'."

>> No.2715378

>>2715190
I agree with this. There's a lot of room for a "new perspective" on EP
3 like there was in Watanagashi regarding who the "real killer" was.

Don't forget people, Ryuukishi said 'Battler has only ever been resisting before now, not fighting back'
And he said that in EP5, Battler will finally fight back.

In Episode 1 most of the other parents were killed by Natsuhi. The servants in the mansion (Shannon, Gohda) were killed as well since they witnessed the crime in progress. The servants must have surmised that the killings were done by Eva and/or Hideyoshi, gained access to their room, and killed them while Natsuhi was in the lounge with the kids. She may or may not have been party to their plan. Unbeknown to both parties of killers, Nanjo had been observing their actions and was adding his own flair to the crimes- the magic circles that were drawn on the doors to the crime scenes, with Kumasawa's aid. Kumasawa killed Kanon when the two of them went to the boiler room. When Natsuhi exiled the servants from Kinzo's room, Kumasawa and Nanjo attacked Genji, but Genji's unexpected skill with a knife led to all 3 receiving fatal wounds. Before he died, Nanjo stabbed the final stakes into Genji, Kumasawa and himself, fulfilling his final obligation to Kinzo.

There's more to my theory than that, but I've summarized it to avoid the WALL OF TEXT syndrome.

I'm thinking murder/suicide.

Mainly because I wouldn't be surprised if Hideyoshi married Eva for her money. They've dropped a few hints that he isn't the PERFECT husband Eva thinks he is, as well as implied that they rushed the fuck out of that marriage, because they both had something to gain.

So if Eva found out that Hideyoshi never really loved her, a murder/suicide event would be pretty possible, especially since Hideyoshi died in the shower (so someone snuck up on him, at least), while Eva died calmly in bed (so the murders either happened simultaneously, or Eva was perfectly calm when she died).

Eva also had her shoes on when she died. Most people don't wear shoes in bed, though maybe if you're suicidal you don't care. I'm guessing that Eva was killed at the door when she let someone in (George or the servants, avenging Shannon? George is trusted so she may have let him in) and was placed in the bed afterwards (again, George, being considerate toward his mother? Or just moving the body out of sight). Taking Hideyoshi by surprise in the shower would be easy as pie, since he probably wouldn't hear a thing outside the bathroom. Afterwards, either the killer chained the door and hid somewhere, or rigged the chain to appear fastened in some way and left. The whole 'Kanon cutting the chain' scene may have been a charade, though Kanon may not have realized, since it was mentioned something about this process moderately surprised him. But then he saw the bodies and forgot about the whole thing.

Same the whole wall of text thing is irrelevant when your creating a theory for one of the vaguer episodes.

Yeah, actually Maria used her Hulk powers to kill all the adults and slipped through the cracks in the doors at her normal size.

>> No.2715504

Some theory I have:
Jessica isn't Natsuhi's true daughter.
We know that Natsuhi couldn't have a child for years, and everyone thought that she was sterile, at that time Eva maneuvered to make George the heir.
And suddenly Natsuhi got pregnant, good timing.

Also, Jessica is completely different compared to her parents, it's different compared to George, Battler or Maria who all have traits that are similar to their parents.

It could be important.

>> No.2715505

When you regard someone as the culprit, you have to explain why he/she didn't do in other EPs.
In other words, details have to lead to the explanation about common rules and the general structure.

Jessica is Beatrice and Kinzo's love child

I had my own theory as I was playing through ep 2.

Forget magic vs reality and that whole deal, if battler solves the riddle and gets the gold, it doesn't really matter, he wins regardless.

This theory was slammed on its face in ep 3 though.

The way I'm looking at it, all of the people on the island motivation, its just a matter of opportunity.

And there's no guaranteeing that there is only one culprit/group of culprits in each episode. Different crimes in the same episode may be done by different people. The only common factor is the magic circles, so I'm guessing a third party is responsible for those, ordered by Kinzo to oversee the game and keep things moving by creating a healthy dose of suspicion.

It's probably decided by the outcome of the argument over the inheritance.

Ep1: They try to corner Krauss with threats. It has backfired. Krauss wins.
Ep2: We don't know shit what really happened.
Ep3: SOMEONE WANT OUR MONNEYZ. WE ARE A TRUE FAMILY, FUCK OFF FAKE WITCH.
Ep4: They were actually able to defeat Krauss with Kyrie's improvisation.

I've kind of suspected that the Beatrice that showed up in EP2, and gave Maria the letter in all the games was Jessica. I mean hell, all she needs to do is fix her hair and put on a funny dress/suit. Though I don't know how she would have pulled it off without George and Battler realizing.

There's also her speech in episode 2 about "creating another person within herself".
The author has a tendency to throw some small hints like this.
And the Marisa parody could be a hint as well.
