Is there a good place to buy visual novels online? Any tips on getting a good deal? I've had a look at my usual site (paletweb) and all the ones I'm interested in are $80-$100.

Hudred dorrars for a pesky VN? Nigga is you crazy? No wonder we never get translations when the importers are this greedy.

They're actually that expensive.

You could also use himeyashop.

I like owning hard copies of things, and considering I've sunk 40 hours into Clannad over the past five days I think Key deserves some cash. I just can't afford to fork out $80 for it.

I'm in Australia, so after shipping it's even more.

I've got a job, but I also pay rent and bills and buy food.

Do the Japanese pay that much when they buy one in-store? How much of that $100 is for the import?

>> No.2693700

Don't buy it from those slimeball import shops. If you want to support the developers donate, or send them an American t-shirt. japs love american t-shirts.

If it's something from a big name company, like Type-Moon, then, yes, they do. You'll also have to pay that much if you are buying something that's no longer being published, but that's just a matter of supply and demand.

I've been eyeing Clannad and F/sn mostly, so if I really do want to buy one I'll just have to pay that much, end of story?

>To Heart 2 Another Days
>Retail Price: 9,240 Yen

Just about, the slightly added price is due to bad Yen/Dollar conversion rates.

I've shopped at various different places over the years, but these days I tend to use Hobby Search for new package releases.
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/game/

I prefer download-sale versions when available, though. Saves on shipping.
