ok /jp/ I admit I only have heard anime's OST... It's the only one thing I've ever downloaded related music cds from Japan

But I'll like to stop being an soundtracksfag and tried some real japanese music.... not visualkey or parapara or trance shit. Just some cool japanese music...

What would you recommend me to listen?

Coming from an older (and former) MM fag, my opinion is that the group has never been the same since they released Renai Revolution 21. I recommend that, btw.

Also, Love Machine, I Wish, Manatsu no Kousen and Daite! Hold on Me (the song that introduced me to them).

...But that's if you want to get into Morning Musume. Bands and artists I'd actually recommend would be:

Pizzicato Five
capsule
Perfume
Mayumi Kojima
Shiina Ringo
Sambomaster
Thee Michelle Gun Elephant
GO!GO!7188
and Judy and Mary...also nostalgic, so why the hell not.

>>2661286
Shit capsule is good!

Anyway i highly reccomend KOTOKO and Perfume. Ayumi Hamasaki's Ayumix is also good, its a mix of techno and jpop and is amazing. I have been addicted to jpop for the last 3 years and well i havent found much more than the ones listed here.

I love Pizzicato 5 and Judy&Mary, especially the latter.

Do you know of any similar bands?

>> No.2661373

Wow, a lot more Perfume fans than I realized.

They have a few really great songs (One Room Disco, Dream Fighter, Polyrhythm, Computer City, Perfect Star Perfect Style) but overall they're no Utada Hikaru or Origa.

SOUL'd OUT is okay as rap goes, although they're more like pop with rapping during the verses than actual rap.

If you're more into metal, Intestine Baalism and Shadow are both quite good IIRC.

Morning Musume. Really.

I was on your same situation OP, just listened to anime OP/ED and decided to explore the "mainstream" pop music (back then Morning Musume was still hot shit circa 2003/2004). Get the 2 Morning Musume best compilations.

Yousei Teikoku.
Really.
I'm listening to it right now, really loud, and I fucking love it. It's heavy, beautiful, and the chick's voice gives me orgasms.

well, capsule's been called the Pizzicato Five of the 21st century, and GOGO started as a band that did J&M covers.

However, since I already named those two, a few bands that I also found similar to Judy and Mary before I found GOGO are:

Whiteberry (disbanded years ago when the members entered college)
The★Scanty (I have no idea what happened to them, but look up Koibana (written "コイバナ"))
ShakaLabbits (still together)

Whoa!... Now stop there my friend... I know Morning Musume kinda degraded after RR21 but c'mon it's not really that bad... sure, it will sound bad initialy but after listening to maybe 4 or 5 times, the melody starts to burn in your head... try listening a few more times and you'll suddenly find yourself uncounciously humming their tunes...

Try this...

Because the noise in his noise section is much shittier. I didn't need to read any further than Merzbow to know it would just be feedback on top of static for hours, though his enthusiasm is nice.
