Then your reply made no sense. Because I was talking about how you would need an ifinite ammount of energy to accelerate any mass to lightspeed and that, to accumulate this ammount of energy, you would have to 'use up' the entire universe and everything beyond, therefore destroying the space which the mass was supposed to travel through.

tl;dr moving at lightspeed is a very silly idea

The fact that you can't understand it doesn't make nonsensical. There's mathematical (and also experimental in most cases) proof of it.

The one thing I'll never figure out is that whenever it comes up that fictional character X moves at lightspeed, somebody feels the need to come out of the woodwork and say that it doesn't work as if it's new information. What are they, 12 and read their first physics book? WE KNOW THAT. We don't care. The character is defined as doing that, and if it's impossible, then the character does the impossible and SHUT UP.

Oh dear, didn't see this post.

Photons don't have mass because they don't interact with the Higgs field. Balck hole don't swallow them, they just extract all their energy, a photon emitted from a black hole first loses all it's energy, so it's amplitude is 0, a photon without energy is nothing. So it's said that it was swallowed, common misconception, as if a photon would exhibit a parabolic trajectory, nonsense.
