In comparison America's GDP fell almost 25% during the Great Depression.

Lol Mexico and swine flu.

>> No.2630388

That's normal, because americans don't need to actually have money to spend any.

>> No.2630392

Well yes, the recession is hitting export-dependent countries heavier than introverted home market economies that can just pump hundreds of billions into keeping demand up.

The only reason why the U.S. GDP didn't contract as badly is because they spent trillions of dollars (that they don't have) to artificially prop up a dead economy. Make no mistake, they'll get theirs soon.

Isn't Japan in the same situation?. They are deep in debt if i remembered correctly.

Not as bad, since the United States has massive EXTERNAL debt, whereas most of Japan's debt is domestic (ie, they owe money to themselves).

Oh, look who's at the very bottom! These bailouts are retarded. The US economy is finished! They need to just let the recession happen and get it over with, but no, they're insistent on making it a depression.

Thats because Americans like electing politicians who make them feel good, and not ones who actually know what the fuck they're doing.

And then, when those same politicians don't solve their problems, they whine and cry and act like it's not their fault that they elected them in in the first place.

This isn't /jp/-related, silly OP.

Reported.

What's the story with Mexico's 21.5%?

Fall in tourism because of pig flu. A huge percent of Mexican exports goes to the American manufacturers.

I really hate the fags who think the economy is "broken" and the bailout is needed to "fix it." Here's a tip: recessions have happened before, and they will happen again.

But sage for not /jp/ related.

And yet we won't do things like declare scrap and what not a strategic resource.
