Today I found KaniWani being mentioned in one of the posts here, and tried it out. Turns out, I didn't recall everything, which was expected, still I think it's a pretty useful tool.

A real issue I'm having though is with the words with different writings, like ちち and おとうさん both being asked for as "father". It seems I have only a 50/50 chance to get it right, and even now there are already quite a few words like this (mother, father, girl, few..), and I fully expect there to be tons more in the future of my WK levels.

Does anyone have a tip on how to handle those? I don't want to have them stuck in my Apprentice stack when I do know the writings and just have bad luck guessing which one they mean. In their FAQ there's a tip on how to handle that, but honestly, I don't understand what they mean with this.

besides if anyone did what you say then it'd only take them a month or two to rapidly get up to speed with their reading so that after say 6+3=9 months from starting off they're better than someone who just decided to learn everything from reading

- won't be able to absorb shit because the input is simply too difficult (content you want to read)

so i set the retiring interval to 274 days and even with 80% retention, to get all your cards to that month interval would take over 2 years at 100 new cards per day for 20 days

if you want to learn words you should optimize your retention rate given the amount of time you want to spend studying words
this is because getting cards to that retirement state is going to take a long time regardless of how many cards you learn per day
you should optimize for time and retention rate and don't become an anki drone with 1000 reviews a day.
