The thing I appreciate most about Japan is, despite its high population density, this is only a major city problem, so there's still lots of fantastic rural areas.
From what I've seen of the countryside, there are several areas where one could simply build a house and live off the land.

Otaku is only an insult in Japan, because they associate it with a murder case from the 80's. What about those corporate executives that have to pay hundreds of millions of yen to the families of the people they rape to death? I guess they're okay and normal.
