2592102 No.2592102 [Reply] [Original]

I remember seeing a thread about this game here a few weeks ago. Well, I've played it for about an hour so far and it seems pretty stupid.

I was expecting to be wall of text'd, but instead I'm getting...well...more of a game. The story seems pretty mediocre so far, although since I haven't played very long I'm not going to judge it too harshly on that.

So, is it really worth playing or no?

>> No.2592117

Not really. The translation is sloppy and the story failed to get me after 4 hours of trying to guess what the fuck did the text try to say, helped by the undub patch.
Unplayable, and a waste of time. Time Hollow was better, and that should say it all.

Get VNDS instead.

>Get VNDS instead.

I've already read F/SN, and that's the on VN I know of that was available on DS.

The character designs are nice, but that's it. The game would actually be a bit more tolerable if it played like a regular VN. The INNOVATION parts where you have the scratch the screen to find toughts are pure bullshit.

Is the European version's localization any better?

I has not finished game and yet i has opinion HURRR

I beg to differ kind sir. The translation was bad but it was not bad enough to ruin the game and i personally enjoyed it.

also >>2592102

It does get better and as long as you pay more attention to the story and less to the bad translation it will be enjoyable.

"Hey guys, for the past few days I've been working on a Reallive -> VNDS converter."

Which VNs use reallive? Does Umineko?

>since this is a DS game

About a month or two ago, I downloaded the Suikoden Tierkreis [UNDUB] from a thread on /jp/,
but when I entered Magedom, the voices went out of sync.

I searched google and downloaded a fixed version, but the voices are still out of sync.
Do I have to restart from the beginning now? I don't want to waste another 5 hours just to see the same error again.

>> No.2593880

>>2593777
I doubt that's a proper fixed version.

>> No.2593906

>>2593880
All the other places where I found the game where forums with their forced registration to download content.

I think that the desync can't be fixed afterwards and I don't have a savegame of before it happened. I could restart and play another 5 hours to get there, but if it desyncs again...

>>2593906
I don't think there's a fixed undub rom, the only proper fix for that is tinkering with the rom yourself. I don't remember where there are all the instructions to transfer english dialogue inside the japanese rom, that way you keep the battle voices as well.
Alternatively, I think the save state from the undub works just as well on the normal version if you don't feel like restarting, just change the name.

You know why the translators didn't give a shit? Because the story fucking sucks.

Now I've tolerated every VN I've played, but this was the hardest. There are some interesting characters(pic related) but the story is soooo fucked up that only the beginning and the end make sense. The middle is just a mess that you keep reading in hopes of clarification, but needless to say there is none.

I remember liking Lux Pain, but I never finished it for some reason.

Great (Japanese) voice acting and Kenji Ito soundtrack though.

>> No.2594142

It's fine
the story is pretty crap, but the characters have personalities at least
The story is basically is really warped, and when you finish the game you haven't really done anything significant
Just made some memories with some friends and then leaving suddenly like those crappy movies

What pissed me off the most was the extras.
I actually scratched every noise immediately and got the good ending at one try, and I only unlocked like 5 scenes, since I did not wonder around like like an idiot to get those shitty fliers.
Also, hooray for overtried chinese stereotype girl.

>> No.2594187

Yeah, she was quite a stereotype
And yeah I only got 5 scenes for the extras, but then I downloaded the cheats and unlocked everything
Basically you go on a day out with all of your friends (if they're girls, it's a date)

Because the great thing about the DS isn't reading the books, it's showing everyone online that I did.

Canaan is only an extra on 428.
428 got a perfect score from Famitsu.
