Say what you will about the endless spin-offs and rewrites of the Extraverse (and I'll probably agree with what you have to say), but there's nothing wrong with Extra. Never read CCC in full because I don't know Japanese but I doubt there's anything wrong with it either, from the translated parts I've read.
Extra is basically taking the concept of "blank player character" something very common in video games and turning it on its head. CCC is taking it further with the literal NPC love interest. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than F/SN, but it's in the same vein as it. F/SN takes the concept of "ally of justice" something very common in shonen manga, super sentai, etc and turns it on its head.

Almost everything is wrong with Extra as in the original game. Taking blank player characters and turning on its head is not a new concept, RPGs as old as Shin Megami Tensei and Dragon Quest have done this and they do so much with it, while Fate/Extra barely scratches the surface.
My problem with Extra is that it is too short and everything is just so rushed, most of the time in game is just spent on shitty grinding with awful gameplay and most of the world building just isn't forced in naturally, most of it is done in a really condescending way and there is just not enough time in game to develop stuff in general
And ''muh CCC'' isn't an excuse, imagine if Evangelion just showed you the robot fights and shinji crying occasionally and then they release a sequel explaining on why the Evangelion characters act the way they do
Also the PSP limiting the stuff you can do is fucking bullshit, Persona 3 Portable, Monster Hunter and Trails games prove otherwise.
There is nothing wrong with the Extraverse though, there is potential to do cool stuff with it but most of it is wasted by bad writing and laziness

Zero is always recommended to be watched after the VN since it spoils both Fate route and Heaven's Feels.
Still, you might enjoy bad ends and Tiaga Dojo since they're not present on Deen or Ufotable anime.

It's a manga, not a novel. It came out like 10+ years ago and it's on indefinite hiatus. Only 2 volumes are out.

The story is about the MC returning to his home after being away for quite a while. MC lives in a traditional old school wealthy family, has a prim and proper ojou type sister and has a meido who is also his half-sister and with whom he has hot incest sex. Conveniently, the meido also has some suspicious motive of her own. Oh, and there's some mysterious murders happening during the time MC headed back home.

It was translated by an ESL and it's not a great translation, but it's not dogshit either. You'll find some mistakes every now and then, but it's not like Takajun did fanfic-tier translations.

Question for more knowledgeable fatefags, is Irisviel as we see her at the end of Fate/Zero and in Unlimited Blade Works just Angra Mainyu using her appearance as a mask to emotionally manipulate Kiritsugu and Illyasviel and Irisviel's consciousness has long since been destroyed, or is that her actual personality having been corrupted by the grail (kind of the impression I got by the end of the end of Fate/Zero episode 22)?
I know some of this is anime-original (namely the UBW scene) and that Irisviel in general is a character made after the original Fate/Stay Night, but surely something in the lore clarifies.

I mean this is all pretty common for any console port of an eroge to 15+ or whatever. I mean I don't doubt that Nasu wasn't butthurt, but none of that is unusual. VAs sometimes have contracts that don't let them say certain words (eroge censorship never makes any sense), more explicit words in lines are removed (no 勃起 and such), and you can't really have penis worms.

I know this sounds weird, but I wisu Nasu kept Saber a guy because 1. We could've avoided the one thing that made series go shit, which is the constant amount genderbending characters 2. It would've left room for Illya to have her own route, which is Fate route.

With regards to the movies, the art and directing is basically god-tier (minus #6 but whatever) with the way it conveys the late 90s-early 2000s dark, urban aesthetic perfectly. As for the characters, Shiki is a very unique main character. "Depressed, lonely girl" doesn't sound like much at first, but her struggles with her own emotions, her other/missing half, and accepting herself is better and more fleshed out character development than you'll get in most stories. Also, the fights and powers are pretty cool. And Touko.

Hollow Ataraxia as an anime would work very well if it does the same thing as Danganronpa 3, which is splitting it into two shows that airs back to back and one episode for the finale.
One show focuses on the main story, and the other focuses on the slice of life stuff, and the final episode is the eclipse.
That's the best way I can think off Hollow Ataraxia could work as an anime. The slice of life show will pack many moments in an episode, only exception would be Mimic Rin, it should have its own episode since its way too long.
Oh, and it would be nice if they made an OVA about Hanafuda main story. Wanna see Taiga wrecks many servants by herself.

If you're into Nobu, you're going to get some pretty good stuff in Redline.
The manga is still in the early moments of the Grail War but Nobu being one of the poster boys of this whole thing is featured pretty prominently in the first chapters.

If you play extra, pick female MC, lose against the final boss and then turn the game off forever you have the setup for LE.

for some reason Nasu really felt the need for this bad end that he never put in the fucking game to be explored.

The FGO Manga stuff is unironically pretty good.
I don't think they're all hits, but the stuff that I enjoy, I really enjoy.

Redline is my favorite Fate manga nowadays but the Shimosa one is very good too. It's still like, FGO, so its understandable if you're not into it, but it just has some great action setpieces and the duo of Gudako and Musashi have very fun chemistry

This is an old one but was one of the first FGO manga and I think its pretty underrated
Its supposed to be a retelling of like half of the FGO first arc (Fuyuki, Orleans, Okeanos, America and Babylonia). The raw have just started america and the translations have gotten to a good pace and are now in America.

It does a fun thing where starting with Okeanos they start to bring characters from an old singularity into the next one. So for example you have Kiyohime doing stuff with the pirates.

The art isn't as good as the other mentioned but I think it does the job well

In order its fuyuki, orleans, septem, okeanos, london and america. With the upcoming movie I doubt it will reach camelot, and babylonia is the last part. if itrs truly half then it would reach to London

They both will adapt Fuyuki and Orleans but after that they will branch out
Turas Realta will adapt Okeanos, America and Babylonia
Mortalis Stella will adapt Septem, London and Camelot.

Mortalis Stella' Author had some health issues so we're still stuck in Orleans there, but Turas Realta is going strong.
