Nukige operate under the same idea like every VN. They make damn sure to tell you if it's MC only or not. Perhaps even more so than other VNs. Usually sado MCs are about power fantasies, and that's not going to have others do anything.
For anal there's also tons of vanilla nukige out there, that should be more likely to have it.

The best part about Muramasa is definitely the writing in itself. It walks a fine line where it's difficult and interesting enough to be engaging without being too pretentious. The most impressive part is that it stays true for all of the different aspects of the game like the comedy, the fights and the world building. There aren't really any parts that overstay it's welcome which is a big feat considering the length of the game. I also liked the high use of 傍点 and Furigana compared to other games.

I do have a couple of problems with the game. The first one is the voice acting. While the casting itself is fine there are some really weak performances in the main cast. Ichijou and Ootori being the most prevalent. The side characters suffer from having too little different voice actors.
The second problem is 復讐編. Overall an enjoyable read on it's own but thematically it's the weakest part of the game. The characters and the premise are solid but beside some basic setup for the true route i don't think it really achieves anything.
The third problem comes from the structure of the game. Before entering the true route you are forced to play the other routes. This isn't bad per definition but it also sets up the expectation that the true route will surpass the others. The problem being that Ichijou's route, especially the battles and the climax are just way too good. There are some genuine great parts in the true route for example: The whaling skit, 虎徹、 と, The final spurt of 魔王編 (everything after the TED-ed puzzle until the start of the epilogue) and most importantly Muramasa sucking you off in a maid costume. But I don't think that it is overall better than the content before it. It's a shame since the second OP really got me hyped up for it.

Overall it's a very solid experience and definitely the best 'chuunige' I’ve read. Would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to improve their Japanese, master the blade or if you just need some pointers about how to juggle a football.

I doubt it, it's probably more of a budget thing. There's no way Hibiki Works has any semblance of elitism or class about their products, they're filled to the brim with H scenes, after all. The ultimate question for a develop is, "do we want to do a 3p scene at the cost of at least 2 solo scenes from the two heroines?" and I think they just prefer to focus on one girl at a time. And I can't really disagree with their choice. 3p is very rarely actually done well in eroge imo.

Without context, 3p feels like "if you don't like this one girl, maybe you like the other one?". It's okay, but usually you just want one over the other. Yuri is kinda similar there. If you aren't lesbian and self insert into one of the girls, it's just one of the girls you focus on, the one who is cuter/sexier/whatever.

With context however it can be okay. Just, usually porn won't get much of that. In nukige it's obvious why, and in other VNs the ero is usually so separate, that there's not much context either, even if the 2 characters would possible have something outside of the ero. So yeah, 3p usually makes little sense. It costs more from a dev point of view, and while it may somewhat please more people, it won't truly please anyone. Would possibly work better, if VN companies wouldn't have so much variety in every game. Her, have big udders senpai, loli imouto and ohoho ojou blondie with normal breasts. Maybe you like one of those, but then it's over. If the heroines of a game would be following a general idea (i.e. no token loli, no extreme archtypes that you either love or hate), 3p might be more interesting.

The problem is that current VNs have them as their own characters but make them boring for the sake of the idea that making them boring makes them relatable so you get an awkward in between. Then you have the inconsistency with them having a face but randomly lose it throughout the VN (Usually HCGs).
It's gotten so bad that we dont even get the MC in the game's page these days.

I don't know, but the normal methods of scaling windows on win32 should do better than pixel doubling.
In fact, a close look at the image posted in >>25695826 reveals that it is already integer scaled (zoom into a crop and count the apparent pixels). Which makes sense, considering it's a 1280x960 screenshot of a 640x480 game.
It looks so shitty because it's integer scaled. The programmers probably had to work to make it that shitty rather than just letting the OS handle it.

Sometimes it's possible to mod games to add better resolution options, but I don't think there's a general program.

I love that artist. A shame they seem to have gone awol now, they had a really really good artstyle and good tastes in character designs. It's just a shame they opted for Appetite since they seem like an even shittier Miel/Norn. Also that girl is literally one of the few black girls that are coloured right; nipples are darker than her skin tone and her hands and soles are pale in contrast to the rest of her skin. The comparison isn't totally wrong since both companies are low effort nukige-per-month but Appetite is more varied in what they put out at least. Miel is more popular since they have the stranglehold on entry level degradation but I can at least play two Appetite games in a row whereas with Miel I have to go months between them since they are all so samey.

Finished Newton to Ringo no Ki. Well, this was a mindbogglingly boring experience.

Neither the plot concerning time travel nor the past's struggles with its generic main villain who solely exists to be a bad guy, or bland character drama stemming from people not talking to each other enough are very good. All the characters are very forgettable. Side routes are just an excuse to have H-scenes for non-main heroines and their plot usually involves the protagonist stopping to do what he’s supposed to be doing and choosing to stay with a girl he suddenly decides to like on the spot (future be damned), which he arbitrarily doesn’t do in Alice’s route despite ALREADY achieving his main goal of fixing the future as clearly evidenced by the science magazine, no doubt for contrived drama points because the last route has to have contrived drama. Alice's route is quite literally the same as Haru or Emmy's routes but with extra drama. Alice herself as a character, despite being the main heroine doesn’t receive enough limelight or character development either due to not exactly being an active participant in the plot because the protagonist’s cadre decides to keep her in the dark about time travel and their endeavors to not fuck up the past more, and the romance is very sudden in her route as well.

There's also some very arbitrary use of time travel mechanics and outright plot holes. It’s evident the writer didn’t bother enough to keep things consistent. For example right from the start the protagonist and his childhood friend use a science magazine they brought from the future to keep account of how much their actions in the past are affecting the future since its contents change retroactively depending on how much they’re fixing the shit they caused, and another letter later in the story uses a similar function. Apparently in this universe, for some reason only written material brought from the future changes retroactively in respect to past’s changes, nothing else does and there's no explanation for it.

Lavi in general was a criminally missed big opportunity of a more interesting character because she actually fucking does something in the story, her route is the only one that has some relevance to main plot and where the drama at the end makes a semblance of sense without being a totally contrived asspull like fucking plague rats or Emmy being Alice's sister out of nowhere, even managing to evoke an ounce of emotion out of me. It’s also the only side route that you’re forced to play through. Plus there’s her mysterious mother who even the other characters theorize about, but the person in question is left completely unexplained and only exists to provide a convenient vital plot item. I actually expected some kind of an additional surprise true route afterwards back in the future wrapping some of this shit up, but no. Especially since the game even bothered to give contemporary clothing for all the past characters, which makes me wonder if the devs in early development also intended to have an extended last arc taking placing in the future.

But perhaps I’m complaining too much about a lightweight bakage where Isaac Newton is replaced with a generic twintail genius loli? Well no. I could forgive the game if it indeed was mainly a comedy like the silly premise makes it out to be, but the boring plot-holed serious main story starring generic characters always takes the main seat and not even the few rare bits of average humor salvage it, so I couldn't recommend this game to anyone looking for a good plot, good humor or a good charage. Only good thing about this game were the semi-funny insert "song" videos in each route.

Done with Rita's route in Maoten.Fucking called it with the separation thing, what I don't expect is that MC doesn't reunite with her in the ending. That, combined with the route pulling the climax out of nowhere and the fact that one of the heroine literally dies and revives a few minutes later because magic pissed me off enough that I checked the spoilers on VNDB, sadpanda, and walkthrough on saiga, She's the true heroine and has another route after completing the other 2 heroine's route. Fuck that, I like the romance, I love Rita as heroine, I like the side character's involvement in her route, and I like that the devs put extra contents on the disc instead of cutting them and releasing it later as append, but I've had enough with the clusterfuck of serious/comedy moments. I can see some people may like this kind of atmosphere, but not me. I'll drop this for now for Tsuyokiss, if Otome's route is enjoyable enough, I'll be back to Maoten to finish it, otherwise I'll move on with another title on my backlog, probably Love Clear or E School Life.

I struggled through 3 of the 4 chapters of Bifronte, and this shit really isn't horror at all. I dunno why the fuck the official genre has that even in there. If anything, there is some VERY minor denpa and it's somewhat occult mystery. Doubt that the last chapter will suddenly change this, so I don't think I'll bother with the rest.

That said, the writing is bad (example: Protag sperged out because of a radio report about a girl dying during the morning hours while thinking it's someone he knows, but he separated with just a short while ago when it's currently evening/night) and it's overall just mediocre in terms of characters and whatnot. The art is serviceable, but that doesn't do that much. Porn is fairly unporn-ish, as the characters are usually having some kind of inner struggle during it, because of the character drama stuff that is fairly uninteresting.
