Mima may come back in Touhou 13. Hear me out, I've been tossing this theory around in my head.

Mima is a spirit. Or rather, she WAS a spirit, no telling what she'll be if she crosses over to Widnows, given how Alice and Yuka have different origins then their PC-98 selves. That said:

1. 13 is a number with strong unlucky or magic connotations.

2. So is 7. And Touhou 13 is exactly 7 games after the last PC-98 game.

3. As great as Unzan (Ichirin is Unzan's hitbox, as far as I'm concerned), Kogasa, Nazrin, and quite possibly Yumemi are in UFO, it can be inferred that ZUN is simply running out of Youkai to make characters out of. He's already reused some of the PC-98 characters, blah blah blah you've heard this before. My theory? he's been saving Mima for a game in which she would have numerological importance in. I personally hope she's either the Extra or Final Boss, and absurdly powerful, quite likely given how the recent games have been ramping up in difficulty.
