Eh, the stage 3 and stage 5 themes were pretty good in my opinion.

As for favourite Touhou level, it's a toss-up between IN Stage 4B, and IN Stage 5. I really love the Marisa fight (I seem to be slightly masochistic in this regard, and enjoy having Marisa hand my ass to me), but stage 5 in itself is a pretty decent stage.

Honourable mentions include PCB stage 4, MoF stage 4, and EoSD stage 3.

Stage 5 EoSD.

Starts off with dramtic musical opening, boss comes in halfway throuhg and absentmindedly rapes your ass with misdirection because it's the first time you've ever seen it and you just used both bombs on patchouli, then a goddamn marathon gualntlet shootout with no strategy but survive for several minutes as the screen fills with every type of projectile, then you arrive ath the boss who casually tells you to fuck off, then luna dial comes on for maximum buildup awesomeness during the pre battle, you jump in your seat at the sudden torrent of bullets but manage to survive it well enough, then her first spellcard kciks in, she throws a curtain of knives, not to bad, THEN LUNA DIAL SHIFTS INTO HIGH GEAR AND YOU'RE LIKE WHOA WTF I CANT MOVE WHAT THE SHIT TIME IS STOPPED WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING O-OH GOD HUNDRED AND HUNDREDS OF KNIVES LORD SAVE ME, AND YOU PISS YOURSELF AS A SLEETING HAIL OF KNIVES EVISCERATES YOUR ASS SO THAT YOUR FLUIDS PAINT THE WALLS A NEW COAT OF SCARLET, AND THEN AGAIN EVERY TIME SHE DECLARES A NEW CARD AS THE THE NAMES BECOME MORE HORRIFIC THAN THE LAST.

PCB Stage 4 - It was challenging for me to learn this and the Prismrivers usually take 2-3 lives or more from me, but both the stage and boss were excellently scripted.

PCB Stage 5: I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned, given the excellence of the stage theme (one of ZUN's finest, in my view) and how fun Youmu's spellcards are (Capturing 5 Signs of the Deva for the first time gave me a real rush)

MoF Stage 4: Another well scripted Stage - Momiji's pattern intimidated me the first time I saw it, but I capture it every time now. Also, Aya's theme is great, though Aya herself is harder than Sanae for me.

Suddenly, you encounter a mid-boss, who, after spilling a few words with nothing but aggression, attacks you like no previous boss before. She backs up after a while and everything seems okay until the music changes. The fast tempo and rhythm of the music does nothing to reduce the fearful presence of the half ghost swordswoman in front if you.

You sense that this might be the end of the road for you, but you are ready to go out with a bang.
