Funny, I don't recall Alice being ruined forever by anything. If I really did miss something that tragic, then it just embellishes the point. The individual fan decides what affects / doesn't affect them. Personally, I've liked just about everything I've seen, from the McRoll, Marisa Stole the Precious Thing, the rest of IOSYS's creations, the various videos on nicovideo, Walfas, various Touhou characters on MUGEN, and of course, the actual Touhou games themselves, and just about all of the fanart I've seen.

Think about /b/. They're mostly idiots. Do we rant about them every time they are mentioned, talking about how they are ruining 4chan, or just learn to deal with them, like an annoying kid brother?

I think if your introduction to Touhou was some Youtube video, but then you ended up getting into the games and actually played them in earnest (and not just to be able to say you've played them), then you're a primary.
