That's an interesting take, but think I prefer the traditional version of adult Chen.

Unlike kitsune, don't think there is any limit to how many times nekomata can split tails, so Chen might end up being the last majordomo of the Yakumo household.

There is an isolated case of a nekomata splitting tails six times. But generally, no - traditionally nekomata are pretty much a Least Concern level of youkai, so most are killed off while they are still at the two tailed stage.
