So how did Type Moon stuff get so popular in the western fandom anyways? I keep hearing /jp/ saying that there are better shit out there but most of our VN discussions is Type Moon stuff. What is it that it appeals so much?

Because it has a story and setting that appeals to a wide audience.

Lots of people like magic, high fantasy and such.

Because it's at least fairly good, easy to get into, has a good art style compared to many popular VNs (lol Key), and it has fightan/powerlevels and everyone just loves that.

As far as translated titles go Type-Moon stuff is some of the best, and Tsukihime was one of the first major fan translation projects so it had the time and hype to build up a following.
