Kaguya/Mokou is only good for potential hate sex, they don't work together for anything else. Sure, Kaguya doesn't really have any reason to hate Mokou, but Mokou is extremely set in her ways about Kaguya. Meanwhile she's got a caring friend who unconditionally helps her despite this.

As for whether Mokou is better off paired with Kaguya or with Keine... For better or for worse, that's a self-solving problem.

Kaguya will be around, but we only got Keine on borrowed time.

On the other hand, by that time Keine won't be able to move around a lot, and will probably be a complete shut in. Either way, once nutrition issues and reumathism sets in, she won't be able to get out in the bamboo forest anymore.
And we all know Mokou ain't too fond of civilization.

Then again, there's always the possibility that while Keine's human form weakens with age, her hakutaku aspect grows stronger instead.
So though only once a month, she and Mokou might still be in touch.

One theory I personally enjoy but haven't found much proof for is all the horned gods are while not the same individual, still the same creature. When the previous hakutaku dies, its knowledge is passed to its successor. Either at birth, if the timing is right, or as in Keine's case later in life. Basically a sort of Roa-esque immortality, with the difference the hakutaku is more or less their own person.

The basic idea is that there have been quite a lot of benevolent but uncompromising horned gods of wisdom throughout history, but it's pretty much never that two have been worshipped at the same time.

For example, there's the unnamed "Sorcerer" deity of stone age Europe (around 30000 years BC), although this may have been a fake.
Next, there's the Bai Ze of ancient China, about 2000-1000 BC (the direct basis of the hakutaku).
Cernunnos of pagan Europe (roughly year 0). There are modern Cernunnos worshippers, but - as with most everything wiccan - they have nothing to do with the real thing.
Finally there's the Japanese hakutaku, appearing around 1000 AD.

It's a highly flawed theory, but it was fun thinking up.

Thought about it, but it seems oni have their origins relatively firmly rooted in the Siberia. They are distinct from the "horned god" type of deities, who are usually peaceful and serious, and found worldwide without any direct connection.
