Warm water and dish soap is the best cleaner you can use. Probably the cheapest too because of how concentrated it is, you don't need to use much of it. Just make sure to rinse it out a couple of times while finger banging it to make sure there isn't any soap residue in it.

I can't speak to the differences in the textures but I think the big thing with the 0 (and the orb) compared to the normal flips is where the hinge is.
