So for the fuckin lulz of it, I fed japanese title of touhou game EoSD into a Kanji to romaji converter. 東方紅魔郷 -> TouHou Beni Ma Sato, meaning Touhou (Eastern Land) Beni (Crimson) Ma (Demon) Sato (hometown). I can buy 'Scarlet' in place 'Crimson' but how the hell 郷 (Sato) got mapped to the word 'Embodiment' in the official english title?

Heh for the fuckin lulz...epic win...

>> No.2434539

ZUN picked out the English versions himself. In general they aren't the same.

You idiot

>> No.2434549

not quite sure if you're trolling or just a fucking idiot
I'll go with the latter

>> No.2434585

OP Here : I am more of the opinion that ZUN tries to 'impless' japs with bigger and difficult words, again for the fuckken lulz.

Some of those are probably Kanji compounds. Most online translators fuck up big time with that shit.

>> No.2434612

The english part of the title is part of the title and is NOT a translation. The full name, in Japanese or English, is "東方紅魔郷 ~ the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil". It is simply called the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil or EoSD by the English players because that is easier to remember, especially for people who don't know japanese.

>> No.2434619

The English title is only related to the Japanese one, it's not a complete translation.

now try that with
東方幻想郷 ~ Lotus Land Story

>> No.2434632

>So for the fuckin lulz of it

>> No.2434640

Why nitpick? It's only a title after all.
