Training is nearly worthless when you can make Orichalcum (which is before Crossel), at least until you're at the Maze of Tribulations (which then you wind up with such fuckawesome weaponry the only thing you're training for is your low HP stat).

You get Albel immediately after the ruins, and--okay, wait, forgot that position in the game.

Yeah, scratch my last estimate--it's about 1/3rd of the way through. Without sidequests or the insane amount of after-game content.
