what is /jp/'s favorite untranslated VN?
(pic not related) ;_;

None because I don't play untranslated games. That's just stupid.

Cross Channel (it's untranslated, right?)

Never played a translated game though.

When did the eroge translation scene really get going? Back when I started learning Japanese (in like 2000 - 2001 or so) the fact that I wanted to play eroge and there was no translation scene was a big thing that pushed me to try harder. I didn't even know there was a translation scene until /jp/ was created (I never really used to look at /a/ because it seemed really retarded), and by that time I was already fluent in Japanese and had played most games that seem to have been translated. I'm not really interested in playing translated games anyway because I'd rather play them in the original language, but I'm just curious when the whole translation thing got started...

Saihate no Ima is a good choice because it's one of the only things 100% safe from translation.

Actually Baldr Sky would also be a good choice because the engine makes it extremely difficult to translate - try translating that sparkly vertical text, for example.

Actually, that's not a very good description at all; but it's very hard to describe. It is, however, probably the most difficult-to-read VN ever written. By the same writer as Kana, Kazoku Keikaku, Cross Channel etc.
