Sadly I am quite sick which has really been messing with me, so I missed the start of it. Did not have time to make a thread in advance. Contemplated whether or not I'd do a thread anyway. And ultimately did a thread around the halfway point.
The original plan was to make thread about this last night, but I wasn't feeling good, couldn't get a moment of sleep. And when I finally did fall asleep in the morning, I woke up in the middle of the stream.

I failed.

/v/ had 5 threads hit bump limit with doujin soft discussion. Excitement for Touhou fangames, ZUN speaking and such.
/jp/ has one thread created 1 hour into the event with less than 10 replies and missed discussing anything that happened.
You have to came to terms with it - new /jp/ would rather talk about 3D whores than doujin soft and Touhou news, which was the reason why /jp/ was created to begin with.

/jp/ has never cared much about doujin games that weren't touhou or yume nikki related anyway. The only reason comiket and reitaisai threads existed were to upload music.

>> No.24120063

>>24119948
Back when Hong Meiling and Remilia were still active and regularly uploaded games every comiket, and before /vg/ existed, /jp/ had quite a lot of discussion going on around doujin games even if they weren't Touhou related or anything.
But I suppose those were very different times.

>> No.24120269

>>24120063
I can't think of any that weren't porn games. People talk about doujin games around comiket. I even made the game threads(not uploaded, just made them and reminded people games exist) for the last few comikets. But after it's over, discussion barely remains. Also checking back, /vg/ wasn't made that long after /jp/, there was just some weird exodus of topics at one point. Probably because of the shitposting era.

>> No.24120452

>>24120353
That whole autism between the english and japanese visual novel threads were real bad. Then people retreated to /vg/ instead of dealing with it, which honestly was to no benefit to anybody. Being restricted to one never ending chain of threads is absolutely worse than having a whole board for your topic. And even the people in the Japanese VN threads here have to deal with how /jp/ as a whole has became rather starved of users for tons of related topics in general.
Fuck /vg/ even has Touhou threads now and have had that for quite some time even.

In the end one truth just so happens to be that people typically engage in more than one topic. Meaning that when all the english VN people left the board the doujin games threads got starved of people since a lot of the people that discussed the VNs were also a large portion of the people that discussed doujin games. And when the doujin games threads got starved on people a lot of people who remained sought other places to discuss doujin games because the rapidly falling user count here made discussion difficult. And with more people leaving, more people left. And with the doujin games audience shrinking, the doujin music audience shrunk too even though it has survived much more successfully. And with that audience shrinking the doujin manga and all aspects of doujin discussion shrunk rapidly too.

One thing after another. It's been really depressing really.

I should have probably made a few, less gigantic collages instead of giant one.
But I made a huge collage of (hopefully) all the games shown, in chronological order left to right, top down. Had to shrink it down a ton though in order for the resolution and filesize to be acceptable under 4chan limitations.

And combined with the lossy compression I kind of fear that you can't get very much out of the images. Some of the text can even be kind of difficult to read and a lot of the screenshots might not have been the best shots to represent the game. Oh well.
I have my doubts in regards to how many people would actually appreciate this, but I wanted to make it regardless. And this was kind of what I had in mind when I initially sought to list the games anyway.

For what it's worth. I might as well link the full resolution collage as well, but it's 24960 x 12960 and over 40MB.
And again I doubt anyone really cares that much, though in case anyone does it might be worth to point out that uguu is a temporary host and will delete the file 24 hours from now.

There were several games showcased that caught my interest. But if I am to be frank one of the reveals that got me the most excited out of all of them, isn't even a new game. In fact it's quite a few years old already at this.
But I am unironically overjoyed that OWH+ is coming to the Switch. With OWH2 being in development and with how Mystery Chronicle was made together with Spike Chunsoft. I kind of didn't expect the classic OWH to get any more love.
I've wanted OWH+ on my phone or my Switch or anything decent that's handheld so bad. One of the reasons for why I've been so excited for OWH2 in the first place, aside from how I loved OWH1, was that it'll be available on phones and handhelds in addition to PC.
And here, catching me completely by surprise. OWH+ on the Switch after I had given up hope for any more OWH1 support. It already has a storepage up and everything, with the English store citing a release as soon as on the 18th. That's a surprise I was not expecting to see today.

Wait. Transiruby is by the Kamiko dev? Only realized that now, trying to find a larger trailer for the game. Which I didn't find.
Oh wait. Now that I am looking through the youtube channel. Transiruby and Picontier are by the same dev too? And publisher.
But they were shown like hours apart in the stream. For what purpose?

But if Transiruby and Kamiko are by the same developer. Let me ask this. Isn't that game extremely short? Like extremely short? I've heard things about it but still. I'd hope that Transiruby would have a little more meat to it if Kamiko is lacking in that area. But if he is also working on Picontier. Well. Hopefully it works out somehow. They were two of the games that looked rather promising I'd say.

>And several times less than that of threads of established topics.
Do you mean those /vg/ threads populated only by /vg/ posters who post hundreds of times a day? Go look at normal /jp/ threads and how long they last. This thread might reach 300 posts, but it'll take a month or 2. Go back to /v/ if you need fast paced discussion of hyping up nothing.

But even when you compare non-/vg/ type threads that have only been live for 3 days or less, they've still got twice or several times more posters than this thread.

Also. Console games were always /jp/. If they were VNs, galge, or otherwise doujin titles somehow.
The above categories are simply PC titles >90% of the time but that doesn't make the exceptions non-/jp/ somehow.

It's more like people tend to play PC games. It's not universally true, see: iM@S, but in general porn games and doujin games are pc games before these recent times. What I'm saying is less people play consoles so less people are able to discuss console games.

>they've still got twice or several times more posters than this thread.
They have something to talk about. This thread is "hey, look at this long ass video". Someone has to start a discussion that's not meta talk about /jp/.
