this is honestly way easier than verb conjugations in most languages

this is literally all you need to learn for japanese grammar, conjugation wise. you need to know how to form te/ta, and then you just learn a bunch of auxiliary verbs that attach to one of the 5 stems (of a godan verb). its arguably way simpler than english and certainly way simpler than something like spanish or french (with a billion conjugations and a ton of irregular words)

i also grew up bilingual and always spoke in english to my mom individually or when i was speaking to both my parents at the same time. when i spoke to my dad it was in my other native since that's his native. switching is very easy, even my dad who learned english in his 20s switched mid sentence if he thinks of a way to express what he wants faster that way.

im not worse at either language though since i got massive english input from tv and the internet and standard input in my other native through irl interactions in school and shit.

I am well aware of the various uses ても/でも have and understand what is being said whenever they are used. However, this is a result of memorizing rather than understanding, I would say. My question is if there is any logic behind the meanings of ても attachments, specifically the logic behind (verb)て+も meaning "even if".

For example, the logic behind "続けなければいけない" is clear and essentially "if don't continue, it is bad" thus translating to "must continue"/"should continue".

The logic behind ても meaning "even if", however, is something I can't wrap my head around. Taking any example phrase, say "ここまで読んでも..." - "even if you read this far", I'm sure ても (in this case でも) isn't a word in itself that happens to mean "even if", so I approach it as the verb conjunction 読んで + も.

Is anyone able to explan the logic/history of why/how ても came to be used the way it is? (assuming there is a logic to it similar to how the sentence in the 2nd paragraph has a clear logic behind its meaning)

the core deck is so basic that if you dont finish it in a week or a similar timing
you definitely will take a long time to get good at japanese
this is why mattos approach of audio immersion and everything else being supplementary is key
if you have already seen all the cards in core a few times
youll gradually match them up to what you hear or vice versa
its simply a waste of time to try and retain cards when maximum exposure is better
