Kind of dislike the ufo collecting system. Most of the bosses non spellcards seem terribly uninspired, but the stages are good. At least it has more than one usable shot type.

So far it's pretty much like most touhou games: good music and pretty interesting scoring system, but everything else is pretty weak. I like the idea of being able to sacrifice lives for extra points via UFO colors, but I don't quite like the way UFOs were implemented (I would prefer you didn't have to shoot them, they just timed out and autocollected, no screen wipe). On the subject of lives I think it's too easy to stack mass amounts of lives, but then again I've felt that about all the touhous so that's kind of irrelevant.

The UFO system should probably be revamped. I'm fine with the idea of running around collecting UFO's and trying not to do something stupid along the way, but I find it a little too easy to earn extra lives. Now, I only play normal so perhaps UFO's are harder to collect due to the amount of bullets on Lunatic or something, but getting extra lives seems to be much quicker than in any other game. Getting bomb UFO's also doesn't seem too useful, as dying will restore 2(?) bombs to you anyway.

Thats the idea, you select what you want to get. Get more extra lives but less points. This one will be challenge since if you want to get a nice score you must have almost no mistakes.

Haven't you see Lunatic replays? They don't farm anything other than green UFO's since dieing in this game is the worst thing that could happen. You power drops 100 power items which is pretty much horrible.
