Most of my unexpected love scenarios tend to happen outside of otome games (like Moriarty from FGO) but I do remember when I first started mystic messenger I was initially hyperfocused on Zen since I found him the most attractive but as time went on I found myself favouring Jaehee and especially 707 the most. Something that I like about the transitions in the story between Youji and Kitani is that you can see different perspectives to the story which is really nice.

I've finished it recently and it was a really, really great game. It has become one of my favorite vns. The care taken of the world-building, plot and details is overwhelming, not to mention how gorgeous the music and visuals are. I also loved all the characters, my personal favorite is Olympia, she's truly both the hero and driving force of the story. Otomate really went all out on this one, I'd even go as far to say it's the best game this company has ever made.

Adding on to this, from the way the general readme described the timed choice mechanic I didn't expect it to matter much, but now that I'm looking at the walkthrough it looks like there's always a timed choice at the end of each route that changes which guy tops. In Yuki's case I prefer the version when you let him top. I never played a BL before with a choice like this but I recall reading that Shingakkou does it too.

Judging from Yuki's route and the walkthrough it's just a single timed choice just before the sex scene that determines it, so you can just make a save right before it. Whether MC tops or not depends on whether you actually click the option or whether you let it run out and vanish on its own. It doesn't change the actual ending but since the lewd CGs are different you indeed have to watch both variants for completion.

Speaking of Olympia, did someone finish Himuka's route? If yes, I'd love to discuss his route. I've got some really complicated feelings because it's a very good route and there's this, I don't know freshness? with a need to take new perspective to understand some nuisances I kind of pity Himuka but still disdain him after what he said, thought of and planned to do to Byakuya compared to other characters of the same nature aka Tsukuyomi and even Amaterasu, who also both had contact with her and got kind of similar, but not ~romantic love~ development much, much earlier and it's not like he observed her for a shorter amount of time, he had an eye on her at least as long as Amaterasu after the tragedy on Tennyo Island I'm feeling very iffy about this, maybe I wouldn't if the heroine weren't such a great person

And it's finished. Nice spooky game. Kind of short, but I'm not sure what else could have been added without lessening the impact. Unlike the last games this one surprisingly didn't have a sudden death timed puzzle right at the end but I guess the franticness in every other stage made up for it. How do you add a jumpscare in the middle of a tearjerker scene, I am still upset

Yosuga/Akaza ~> Tokisada/Rikuu/Kuroba (sometimes with a stronger preference for Rikuu) ~> Himuka
They both have very strong reasons to be the most popular, not only because of character designs. And a word of advice about the play order... If you'll find yourself to like Yosuga before choosing whose route to play first, then play his route in fourth turn instead of third like it's recommended. It won't really impact the flow of the story this much and your heart will bleed for 2 routes instead of 3. I wish someone told me this before as I went with the recommended play order...

Final assessment of OOH MR. JADE:

3/10: I lost brain cells reading every route. Story is disjointed as fuck and it's not a surprise this got overlooked for translations for so long. Jesus christ I cannot express how fucking stupid the True Route is. Some sex scenes were good but the art is lacking and the activities are repetitive.

Best boy: Konno
Best sex: Sensei
Best thing about the game: MC can top if the player so chooses without affecting route outcome.
Worst thing about the game: Holy shitballs the writing is so goddamn bad. The mediocre translation had nothing to do with it- not a single thing could save the retarded developments. HURR DURR IT WAS ALL ILLUSIONS!!1

Voice acting was bleh though it was a blast from the past to hear Yamaguchi Kappei again.

I am now 10 lessons into obey me and somehow finished Levi's bootcamp challenge but apparently my monkey brain derives joy from tapping screens. My impression of the brothers so far is, in order of most to least favourite:

Mammon- he's just so fucking stupid, which happens to be exactly my type. He reminds me of a dog I had- large, affectionàte, constantly causing trouble, stinky as hell, etc.

Beelzebub- He was nice to me from the get go so I grew fond of him.

Leviathan- honestly I want to strangle him whenever he opens his mouth, he's kind of obnoxious, but he's also super amusing during his surprise guest appearances (I really wish those were voices so I could hear what that erotic noise he makes at times sounds like).

Satan- I can't say I like or dislike him honestly. I guess I'm just indifferent? Though I'm still in the middle of his arc.

Lucifer- I don't care much for his Diavolo obsession and ultimately dominant types like him that aren't honest about their feelings are seriously not my type.

Asmodeus- When Zen goes on about his narcissism I roll my eyes but I also did very much think he was the hottest guy in mystic messenger. This one though is the least attractive to me so his rampant horniness, lack of boundaries and abundance of hot hair makes me just tell him to drop dead whenever he shows up.

Belphagor- I know what his deal is thanks to the spoilers when I first found out about the game so consequently every interaction with him makes me angry.

I've also picked mystic messenger up again and made it into Ray's route. Everytime I talk to him I feel like I'm going to cry

Ozmafia has a literal retard mc with even a more retarded twist, but at least the main character is stupid in canon, so her idiotic decisions are justified. The Yuri route is a cuck route where you watch that girl trying to fuck one of the main male characters.
Main guys' routes are not that bad until they reach the forced drama and possible cheating part. Robin Hood marries the main character only after his wife dies, prior this he is using the main character.
Steam prison main character is an obnoxious twat who also happens to be retarded and sheltered as fuck at the same time. The writing is inconsistent and some of the guys are plain bizarre. The only redeeming part of this shitfest is the character design.
Nightshade main character gets actual character development, some of the boys are really great.
Taishou Alice is fun, has an amazing main character and some of the boys make you change your opinion of them over the course of the route. The only con is that the game has only two routes and it's recommended to play the rest of the games for a complete experience.
TL;DR: I'd recommend Taishou Alice and nightshade, and to avoid anything by ozmafia/steam prison writer

Taishou Alice and Tsubasa no Oka no Hime's MCs come to mind, though they're less indiscriminate sluts rather than alphas who prey on beta boys. Taishou Alice is a very good game, Tsubasa no Oka is not but I'd still recommend it if you're interested because the sort of character dynamics it has are so rare in otome.
