>Probably /a/. They're mostly underage so probably think JAPAN IS LAND OF ANIMU AND RAINBOWS

I found this comment posted in one of the other threads floating on the first page here in /jp/, and i had to laugh, because they say the same thing about you guys.

Whats the point of even having these boards seperate, sence both boards are obsesed with japanese anime and culture, but both boards accuse the other of being the only one blindly obsesed?

>> No.2354501

/a/ is for underage anime fans, /jp/ is for NEET anime fans.

>> No.2354506

I'm going to have to report you for a metathread.

Also, /a/ thinks we're obsessed because we have interests that go well beyond their Cartoon Networks animu. /jp/ thinks /a/ is delusional because they get their image of Japan from their Cartoon Networks animu. So, yes, there is a difference between the boards.

Wandering ombudsman from /a/ here. I agree with this statement. Although the 'hate' is more for troll-lulz than anything, considering that the majority of posters for both boards consist of otaku and/or semi-hikki 20-somethings.

I'd say /jp/ has a higher percentage of people who are honestly 'obsessed' with japan, whereas on /a/ it starts and ends as more of a I'm-bored-and-lonely-so-I'll-watch-animus sort of thing.

I post from both /jp/ and /a/ really. I was here before the split, but I find myself on /a/ a lot more than /jp/ because there are more active threads. Though that's not always a good thing considering there's trolls everywhere you look. /a/ discusses /jp/ related stuff from time to time too. Though, I wouldn't doubt /a/ has a lot of underaged kids running around it who think trolling is cool because everyone else is doing it, but I can see some posters who look underage on /jp/ as well, they're just less obvious with it as they are on /a/.

/a/ is more active than /jp/, meaning there are less actual discussions due to all the spam. It sucks typing out an actual post only to find the thread you posted in 404s after 3 minutes or so. This is why a majority of the posts on /a/ are crappy now. Nobody puts effort or time into their posts really, that and the fact that some of them care more about giving trolls attention than actually contributing to the conversation. Most good /a/ threads go like this;

OP: -Interesting topic-

First few posts: -Few short responses, maybe one sage or two for some stupid reason-

After about 10 posts: -someone trolls, or a tripfag posts that /a/ hates for whatever reason and decides the thread is now shit because of this one poster-

All posts after: SAGE SAGE, TROLL TROLL SAGE or DERAILED, SAGE SAGE TROLL DERAIL

Whereas /jp/ has a lot more actual conversations and less trolling than /a/. /jp/ moves slowly, so people can actually think out and type out their responses on the topic, because most topics here on /jp/ last hours before they're pushed to 404.

>> No.2354807

[I'd like to think that] the majority of /jp/ posters are pre-split /a/ posters.

I hate both boards really. Both are so incredible sub, erged in the hobbies yet have to put on some act like 'Heh heh, yeah..it's not like I like it that much!'
The word 'weeaboo' has been abused and now instead of calling people that love Japan and watched anime on toonami, they anyone who has the slightest bit of interest in anime or whatever, a 'weeaboo'.
I'm sick of both boards saying GRRR I HATE JAPAN. Who the fuck cares? Stop going to boards for it then. Stop trying to prove that you're 'normal' or whatever's got you feeling inadequate.

>'normal'

I don't think you understand why exactly /jp/ exaggerates it's dislike of Japan.

>> No.2356466

/a/ is for underage anime fans from animesuki, ann, crunchyroll and similar sites. They do nothing but troll, shitpost, and feed tripfag drama.

/jp/ is generally older and has a higher power level, and is filled with losers and NEETs. There is still trolling, but it can't even compare to the shit on /a/. It's possible to have entertaining discussion here if you take it easy.

How does any of this apply to /jp/? The "hate Japan" thing only shows up in /trv/ or /n/ threads to discourage them. And we hate normalfags to death.

Don't put us on /a/'s level, seriously. As bad as we are, we're better than THAT.

/jp/'s true feelings towards japan could be more described as apathy.

Of course, if such content was left to it's own devices, this would not be a touhou/VN/failure dominated board, and moot would have a reason to come here and attempt to moderate it into what he had originally planned.

If you fail to understand this and hate /jp/, then perhaps you do not belong here?

>> No.2356516

>>2356497
Fuck no. Do you miss all the news article link threads saying something like 'SO HOW DO YOU WEEABOOS FEEL ABOUT YOUR PRECIOUS JAPAN NOW?'
Any sort of talk considered good about Japan on /jp/ is pedo threads.

Im not him but most "normal" people as in joe average don't care much about Japan, modt people recently into anime LOVE IT SO MUCH XD, so /jp/'s blatant hatred seems to be some kind of rejection of both as to not appear like normal people nor "normal or stereotypical fans of japanese popular culture"

>> No.2356527

But I belong here for the purpose of the board not the 'hivemind' of its users. I like Touhou and VN's but I sure don't like the posters.

Yes, but it's gotten to that point that 'weeaboos' call 'weeaboos', 'weeaboos'. It's just so tired and ass backwards.

Not so much anymore. When /jp/ was first made it was flooded with that shit, I'll admit.

So then you are a masochist? Forcing yourself to browse a board who's 'community' you hate?

Or perhaps you seek to change it, which is very likely impossible? In that case, you would simply be retarded.

No, not at all. I simply come here for what an imageboard can do. Quick posting without registration. Do you seriously believe someone could have the audacity to think they could be a salmon swimming upstream on 4chan? I come here, love the pics and fast posting, hate the people. I'm fine with that. Doesn't mean I can't voice my shitty opinions along with everyone else.

more like he just wants to talk about touhou and VNs and doesn't know of any more hospitable place to talk about them on 4chan (there is one at least, but its more elitist then /jp/ in its wildest dreams but more out being of a subject matter that is not "in" or "cool" like japanophilia)

>>You mean, the board that's populated by ronery NEET nobodies who use every possible opportunity for self-ridicule (or just pretend to be like that for the sake of community)?

This.

Sure we're elitist in /jp/ when it comes to geek-related subjects, but we're quite honest about our failures in real life. Or we're at least pretending and going with the /jp/ flow.

Those /a/ Crunchybros and even /v/ GameFAQs Image Board users are simply young normalbroskies who fail when it comes to geek content.

Most /jp/ anons are like that. They always complain about how shitty /jp/ and its posters are yet they keep coming here.

Personally I love /jp/ and most of its posters. There's a reason why this is the only internet community I visit.

I mean deep down anon, even if you love the topics this board discusses you have to admit 90% of the people here are knowingly or unknowingly huge pricks. If you actually enjoy this community on its own terms instead of "people who say things sometimes online about VNs I like to play" it means your view of societal paradigms is so skewed and warped its not funny

>> No.2356786

Oh I admit that anons can be assholes, but usually they aren't too serious about it so I just laugh it off. A lot of them can actually be pretty nice though, especially if you treat them civilly.

I'm not sure what you mean by
