4chan's biggest draw is the anonymity, the potential to just join in and participate without any care for past reputations. Most importantly, no matter how long a user has been a poster, his post is as worthy as any other, evaluated on its content and contribution alone.
We have taken this from futaba, but here's where my doubt arises.

Over the years, we have developed a culture against the very nature of anonymity. We exile any perceived newcomers and "newfag" has become a usual sight in almost any thread. Specially in the busier boards, I'm not referring to /jp/ in particular. We used to just say "lurk more", but it has turned into an insult and attack against any aggravating point of view.

What I'm asking you is this. Is this behavior present in 2ch? An indiscriminate hate for any newcomer and blaming them for all the wrongs of their boards?
Can't find any information in english, hope you can help me.

Picture only slightly related.

Yes. They also have namefags. And if you accidentally age a thread they think you are turning the thread into shit.

>> No.2350047

Newfags on 2ch are called kitchens. (wordplay / intentional misspelling)

Nowadays we have retard tripfags anonymously making tripfag threads to see who's opinion is worth more than others. This is a completely against the concept of this style of board. Everyone's opinion should count for what they say, not for who they are.

Granted, some newfaggotry certainly is faggotry, but on that same token, "oldfaggotry" should not be seen as a retort.

Many time I see stuff like, "YOU ARGUMENT SUCKS AND OPINION IS VALID BECAUSE I AM AN OLDFAG"

That is ridiculous, anonymous posting was created precisely because of this bullshit, as the creater of 2ch has said.

So the problem is in the very implementation of the system and not just us. Interesting.
However, a difference remains that would help control one of our trolling problems. The ID code.
It's non-pervasive, doesn't obstructs anonymity, but helps fend off 'samefag' attempts.

>> No.2350077

>>2350055
Actually, ID codes do obstruct anonymity in a way. I mean, you would still see the same faggot shitposting in every thread, only you couldn't name him anymore.

This is absolutely pointless, since ID codes are hidden when the user uses sage in 2ch-style boards.

>> No.2350340

It's not like we detect newfriend-ism before they even post. Newfriend-ism is only detectable through the content of a post, which doesn't have any bearing on anonymity. It has more to do with having proper knowledge before posting rather than any sort of "status".

Futaba much more so than 2ch, supposedly anyway.

Also, Futaba aren't 'untrollable'. I started a 200+ reply shitstorm on Futaba once.

Of course this happens on the Japanese internets. No one likes it when retards ruin a board or thread.

I pretended to be Korean, basically I made a quick sentence along the lines of 'Japanese provocation will not be tolerated' coupled with a picture of dokdo and translated (babelfish) the statement into Korean and Japanese and posted it all (along with all 3 language translations) on one of their nijiura boards.

I lol'ed when some girl replied saying she had a Korean friend and was sad to see such things.

Oh, and. Curiously some tripfag came along (from what I could make out he's some Korean troll) and whenever he posts they just spam reaction images while quoting his name.
