Anyone get around to helping him hack yet
http://bmw.seiha.org/viewtopic.php?t=224

>Okay, so... I had wanted to translate Galaxy Angel, but despite protestations that "oh, hacking this would be easy and shouldn't take more than like, 30 minutes," said people decided that it wasn't worth those 30 minutes of their time and have completely buggered off, leaving me with a tool about 1/3rd finished.

A translator without a hacker is a real sad thing.

Someone help him

Ghostbros, help a poor guy out

>> No.2344801

Better post the game while you're at it.

>> No.2344822

Link / torrent / whatever to the game. I'm not going to even bother trying to reverse-engineer data formats without an executable.

Please. I'm having trouble finding anything but the anime and compilation torrents.
I'm a shitty hacker, but if it's easy like those people thought, I should be able to do something.

If it's just zlib-compressed without any sort of encryption it should be pretty trivial.

Formats/encryption/hashing-algo(it's a hash based archive) were reverse engineered, but the reverser was too busy to code the tools so he passed on the job to a coder, which didn't have the time/interest.

It's a zlib stream with a custom header which contains a header-less zlib stream. This was already implemented.

Post the documentation of whatever the guy found out.

Everything is at the link

>> No.2345234

>>2344972
If what's at that link is not enough, I'm sure you can ask the original reverser for some help/confirmation.

>> No.2345343

Yeah, but the image format hasn't been reverse-engineered at all, and without the game to debug reverse-engineering something like an image format is basically trial and error

I'll seed it until tomorrow at least.

So, how is the game overall?
Is the strategy part well done, or just a chore?

>> No.2345843

(VERY) lazy hacker here. I lost interest in this project and decided to work on Gore Screaming Show.

Ship power is determined by how much they like you, so if you piss them all off, it can be really hard, but usually, aside from one or two stages, it's pretty easy. The sequels are more fun because they have an unlockable mode where you get to pilot the ships yourself.

>> No.2345879

>>2345770
The strategy part's well done, in my opinion. A bit too easy on the first game, and still fairly easy on the second. The third one is definitely the best balanced. I suppose you could try to make it hard by doing a no-affection run or something, since your ending isn't decided by that.
