This is something obvious but it might be help to you.
Google translate has amazing kanji recognition.
Use the app on your phone or use the web version to write out the kanji and almost every single time, no matter how shit it is, it seems gets it right.
I use a graphics tablet when I'm reading a vn on my computer and get that word in a snap. I highly recommend using this.
I don't have to rely on text hookers anymore since the vns that I want to hook to don't work too well.
