So, what is the best PVC figure in terms of sculpt quality and quality control?

picture possibly related.

One figurine to rule them all?

There is no such.

Really? I think it's a grand pose. Perhaps not the best, but a fine pose indeed.

All mass produced figures probably have the same levels of quality control. And not sure what you mean by "sculpt quality." There's a lot of nice ones, though.

I only have figurines from GSC, and the picture is my entire "collection".

Black Rock Shooter and Saber Lily are my planned investments for the summer.

Most /jp/ Anon rooms are just the same figures and posters rearranged in a different order.

Once in a while we get some high power level Anons in here though.

Some people have similar figures due to selecting favorable products from a relatively small pool of goods. Who the fuck would have thought? You're a retard, Yagi-san.

Also, trip.

I think he gets points for having everything so nicely arranged. I also like the fact that his collection isn't peppered with a lot of shitty-looking figs (in b4 people pointing out figs they think are shitty), like most people's are. While I certainly have an appreciation for the unique, I don't think that you necessarily have to be different to be awesome.

Hard day at work? No need to get so fired up. It's pretty common for (low power level) gaijin to have the exact same figs from the exact same series.

And the trip comment is silly, and it's only used when desperate Anons are trying to save face. Let's nip that nonsense in the bud; I know you're not a Weekend Broski.

If it matters, your keyboard setup is the best thing in your room.

Because they like the character? Because they have no taste? Because they're cheaper? I don't know, I'm sure the motivation varies from person to person. The point remains; if you look at the /jp/ room threads, a lot of people have a collection composed of both nice figs and pretty harsh-looking ones.

For instance, I have some crappy gashapon displayed in my room for various sentimental reasons. I appreciate the fact that there are people who don't get waylaid by such feelings, and look for what they believe to be quality instead.

>> No.2327030

>>2327012
No. Trip. Seriously. I dont care what people think.

Most /jp/ threads have sega figures and maybe one or two people that have GSC fate figures, especially of the elegant maid type. Bootleg rider w/ surfboard is always present. Haruhi figures will show up, and I'll be damned if everyone in the world doesnt have that retarded haruhi in fishnet stocking figure.

Mahoro on a motorcycle is common too, but thats one I actually respect.

Best part of that room is the Swedish flag in the plant pot.
I kid.

I actually prefer that face over the other one. The hair is also better in that version.

>> No.2327099

Back on topic anyhow.

I would say that max factory, cospa, and alter have the best looking figures and sculpts. However, a lot of the max factory figures are quite expensive, and the alter figures are either hit or miss in terms of poses and their faces. Cospa seems to be pretty solid but they release a lot of limited edition shit.

Kotobukiya is good quality in terms of price but usually have average looking poses which come out looking "natural". I prefer these over flashy poses like people swinging weapons on one foot.

Volks also puts out some damn nice figures but are usually expensive and only released on their site.

GSC is kinda the middle ground. Average to high price, average to high quality.

Clayz figures I would put above GSC but only if you prefer a more plain figure. They are top notch quality and they usually put out figures that portray the character closer than other companies. However, some of their figures have silly anatomy mistakes. Usually these figures dont sell out and are easy to get for a bargain price and are generally very worth it.

Stay away from sega, revoltech fraulean series, and yujin.

>> No.2327142

>>2327099
I think the most important thing to look at when comparing several companies is their quality control and painting consistency, since their sculptors are sometimes only contracted for a few figures and then they move elsewhere, meaning sculpt quality is always variable. Sometimes they license the master copies of figures from indie scratch builders and never have any other sculpts from the same sculptor again.

In terms of quality control and paint quality, I think GSC, Alter, Max Factory and Megahouse are the best for their high end figures. Everyone else seem way below them.

>> No.2327277

For quality control I'd say Alter. For sculpt you'd have to look at the person (or group) who designed the figure. Most figures are based off of kits and certain ones were designed to look a certain way. For example Gift's Saber with the original head was designed to look that way even though people tend to blame the manufacturer. The only time you would blame the manufacturer is if they significantly changed the original sculpt for some reason (for example Shunya's Rei by Reflect manufactured by Yamato).

Not me bro. All my figs are quality stuff.

Then again, "harsh-looking" figs can be entirely subjective most of the time.
