There are BBS dedicated to finding vanity trips in Japan.
Think if you had a couple hundred people searching for neat patterns with top of the line PCs.
A P4 can do 750k trips a second, modern processors can reach in the 5m trips per second range.

27 (letters)+ 27 (caps letters)+ 9 (numbers) = 63 digits (some more, but I can't be bothered to count them). A trip consists of 10 digits, meaning that there are 63^10 unique trips out there. In other words, 984930292000000000.
984930292000000000 / 750000000 (total trips generated each second) = 1313240389 (seconds it would take to reach a specific trip) / 60 / 60 / 24 / 365 = 41 (years it would take to reach a specific trip.

Am I missing something here?
