Why is /jp/ so shitty?

>> No.2319112

Because of people like you who make it shitty

>> No.2319124

O.p. has a point thought.
Also dont feed the trolls, they like it.

Honestly, I've often pondered that question myself. And I think it's simply because of the community.

Compared to other boards, /jp/'s userbase is pretty pathetic in many ways. Our hobbies don't involve any actual level of real-world socialization with other people, unlike /tg/ and /co/, which IMO has some of the best online communities on 4chan. Unlike comics or boardgaming, stuff like Touhou, VNs and obsessing over idols isn't something you can really bring out to the real world and share with other people.

That inability to socialize a hobby manifests itself even further in /jp/, and combined with no mod involvement at all in the community, it's lead to the shithole we have today. I'm sure /jp/ could've been more salvageable if we had an active mod presence that actually gave a fuck about this place. I've seen mods involve themselves in other boards, and the shit that goes on around here regularly like the shitposting and more importantly the sagefagging would never be tolerated there. It's a waste really, /jp/ could've been a great place...

It's because /jp/'s interests are too widespread in any given topic, giving the appearance that only shitty topics exist on the board.

For one, I most certainly do not give a shit about the influx of "OH! TOUHOU YURI! NO MEN IN GENSOKYO UNLESS THEY ARE FUCKING TOUHOUS!" that's occurring right now. Thus, /jp/ looks like absolute shit to me right now. Obviously, the solution would be for me to make my own topic, and pray that they don't infest it themselves.

Then it will not feel so shitty. Maybe.

But people on /jp/ are creepy pedophiles.

Japanese bird cooking spaghetti threads are getting deleted too. Janitors are abusing their powers.

This. Unless you really like Touhou pairings and jokes, you'll often find that there's only maybe one topic that will suit your discussion needs.

That's because it's getting reposted by the same fag every 5 minutes.

I don't know, man.

It's not entirely unbelievable for very stupid people to exist in /jp/.

4chan in general has always spiked pretty high in the "creepy pedo" category anyway. It's like the default user state.
