i tried doing the RRTK today but it just felt so counterintuitive cause it was all in english. I’ve been mining for a couple months now, up to 3k vocab now, and can understand like 80% of anime in jsubs, and while i’d like to learn more kanji to speed up my vocab retention, i just can’t think of a good method for it.

Well I already watch a ton of anime, but I was looking for something more mundane, that I can watch during chores and stuff and it doesn't matter if I miss half of it.

i don't really test myself in anki anymore i just use it to remind me how words are read been working fine for me so far. the rare times i do still forget a word i look it up that one time and it sticks permanently after that due to all the previous exposure
everyone acts like you have to use anki for testing yourself or else you wont remember anything and thats not even true in fact for some words it might work even better not to test yourself to prevent recalling the wrong thing repeatedly instead of just exposing yourself to the right thing repeatedly
