http://www.nihongoresources.com/ for all your moonspeak/moonrune needs.

There are lots of methods for learning the kana. The method I used was just working on them 5 at a time (for each consonant row) and writing them repeatedly. Then you write out all of the ones you know before you go to sleep and/or right after you wake up -- apparently these are times when your brain keeps knowledge best.

While I didn't do this, I think it is invaluable if you also use flashcards to train your recognition. It is important to write them all out to make sure you know them all, but using flashcards and training recognition is much more useful when you dive into reading with kana.

Why would you want to be japanese?

Funny but My Japanese coach is actually really good. I know it's hard to believe but it's forces you to do stuff.

Yeah it is pretty good. I had already read Heisig's Remembering the Kana (which is really shitty) but My Japanese Coach was good practice for remembering and writing.

One complaint I have is that it's still using mostly romaji, but I'm not too far into the lessons so hopefully that will change soon.

Anon, when I said "Ask /jp/" on /a/, what I meant was "Fuck off and google it." And, yet, here you are.
