So someone made a post on Twitter claiming ZUN is bisexual according to a translated transcript from the chinese wiki of an unarchived livestream. I questioned it but I just got called "biphobic". So is ZUN actually bisexual?

His casual tone, and the general flow of the conversation makes it hard to take this one offhand comment too seriously, whether or not it's true. The fact that he's now married with kids, and has for all we know a normal average family life also makes the specifics of his sexual preferences a bit of a moot point. That's how I see it anyway.

tldr; ZUN normal average guy aura outside of his job and obsessions is just too strong compared to the possiblity that he might also like guys a bit too.

The Nikenme Radio streams from UStream are lost, not archived at all. At least not on the internet. Maybe some fan saved them all on their computer. The Chinese Wiki is really autistic about having information correct so I don't doubt it's summary of what happened on that episode is truthful. The only way to know for sure is to ask whoever wrote that part of the wiki. I hope this dumb nontroversy doesn't get to the point where people start tweeting at ZUN about personal stuff.

ZUN announced he was married in February 2012 and had a ceremony on May 27 that year, just 3 days after this live-stream. Given that context it sounds a lot like he was joking/being playful about fan speculation about him. It's hard to tell without the context of the quote, though, given that neither the chinese wiki or that 2ch thread have a complete transcript of the live-stream, just that isolated quote.

Yeah it would be helpful to know exactly what was said directly before that. However, from the text you can clearly tell he was directly responding to an accusation or quip from a friend. It was probably Heppoko (one of ZUN's friends that always jokes around) calling ZUN a homo or being like "why are you marrying a woman if you're gay"?
