I remember a KoG topic the other day where everybody said flash sucked. Is flash really that bad, or is it bad because 99% of the people who use it are underaged faggots or advertisers? Are there NO good flash games?

Have you ever tried to use that walfas creator? Have you overused the features? because, even for 2D projects, there's no way to make any big deal with Flash, without it being utter baseless crap, the only big thing I've found so far that could be archieved with Flash support was port Doom 1 shareware, in Flash, and it was shit. Flash is shit.
It only spawns shitty projects, 90% of them are unoriginal, or shit.

Is this what you're implying? I admit, I never used flash, but from what I gather, it's just javacript on steroids, which means there's nothing terribly wrong with it as a programming platform.

There's something in the other hand, I do consider Flash overused and overrated. So? It's true.
While both aren't perfect, I wouldn't qualify Flash to be superior at all when compared to Java, not at the current scene.
Sure, one can do puretty niftay things without complexity, then, the other can do many things too in one run. But, why would you use Flash instead of Java, if parts of Flash itself can still be considered a prototype.

Adobe has been implementing so many things to their apps, that the last time I tried to install the latest Flash & Shockwave versions, I had problems running some Flashes, IE, sound couldn't be reproduced at all. What a mess.

This is an example of the good original stuff you can archieve with other language as programming platform, Flash is shit when it comes to planning and making of actual projects, for fun or not, I wouldn't consider it a platform where one would use it for a project beyond, I PUT/PORT GAEM/X ON FLASH, at least, not for a while.

So, I think you will catch my drift, I see the scene as, you want your shit through Web? you use Flash.
You want a big project? you use a real hardcoded programming platform and language.
