Fictional or not is a matter of degree. As amusing as it might be, most fictional characters in the last 100 years or so are known to be fictional, most mythological figures have a certain degree of fiction to them, and in many cases their existence at all isn't certain, nor terribly likely, but they can still be summoned. Hell, if you can summon a servant from the future (one whose summoning causes that future to no longer exist no less) and fictional characters from myth get a replacement unknown of similar capability, then damn near anything is possible in the summoning process.
