So I've been playing Umineko.
Just finished the 1st part (was awesome) and started the 2nd. Just like 1st was damn slow in the beginning, this one starts with boring shit.
So tell me, does every part start with boring shit all over again?
I have an urge to skip it but I don't want to miss anything.

The 2nd episode gets awesome at the 4th chapter

Worldend Dominator is now playing in your head.

When you say "slow", actually it doesn't mean slow.
You should say "non bloody".
And When They Cry series doesn't fit for those who love only blood and violence.

>When you say "slow", actually it doesn't mean slow.
>You should say "many hard words".

In fact Umineko's story becomes more slow after murders occur.

>> No.2294264

>>2294250
No, actually, the "awesome" in part 1 started not with the murders, but when Ushiromiyas started bitching at each other about inheritance and stuff. I feel that character introduction via airport, boat and whatnot could've been done much faster though. There's a lot of repeating the same things over again, too.

I love these scenes very much.

All of you who keep complaining about the beginning of each episode are the same people who didn't like Higurashi Kai because there weren't any "killer lolis ^_^"

You're the wrong audience, and you make me sick.

It only means that "blood and violence" include mental meanings in your case.

Agreed to the latter.

Unlike most other VNs (F/SN, YMK, various minor eroge) where I had to force myself to get further to points of interest, Umineko's friendly and comedic introduction sequence set me to play through it effortlessly.

>> No.2294495

I don't think episode 2 started slow because Beatrice shows up so early. Having her around makes everything better.

>> No.2294508

Episode 1: Character introductions; doesn't pick up until they read the witch's epitaph. About 30% in.

Episode 2: Shannon and Kanon being furniture; doesn't pick up until Beatrice appears. About 5% in.

Beato's moves require a bit of build-up

>> No.2294567

Actually "outside of October 4-5" has much more infos and hints than October 4-5.
"Speculators" don't have a time to feel boring while reading it.
It might be boring if you don't want to speculate anything, though.

The half of EP4 is the story about outside of October 4-5. And Ryuukishi07 calls this EP "a mass of hints".

>> No.2294586

The "slowness" in each episode is shorter than the last. So Episode 2 picks up sooner than Episode 1 did, and Episode 3 sooner than 2.

I actually liked the episode 2 "slowness" though. But that's all opinionated.

So true.

Wait no
Okay so
Battler is a robot
Gohda is Beatrice
Eva is Jessica's clone from the future
The 2034 event is repeating itself in 1986
Krauss is George's daughter

ANTI-FANTASY?
IT'S ONLY ACCEPTABLE TO ARGUE ANTI-FANTASY IF YOU'RE AN ELEMENTARY STUDENT!

>> No.2295177

EP1: Great cast of charatcers, compelling family drama, intense murder thrillers, great detective work, Beatrice mysterious and terrible.

EP2: Forced relationship drama, family drama takes a back seat where it stays, generally boring while Beatrice isn't on-screen; but Beatrice is often on-screen, plus Nasu and furniture Battler, so overall win.

EP3: Definately sensing a degredation. Battler is starting to piss me off -- he's doing a shirou transformation; turning into a powerless little bitch who cries and whines anytime Beatrice makes a move. Fuck, it's at the point she even starts getting a little guilty over his bitch-fits, and he can only move forward with outside help. A serious de-manning in effect.

EP4 SOLVES THAT

>> No.2295238

If you think that the first half of the episodes are boring, then you are on the side of anti-mystery and you've accepted the existence of the witch, you are a furniture
