If you mean why they couldn't just make one 60h VN, "muh effort". And no, they will never come out. Been 9 years since Mahoyo 1, even if Tsukihime remake releases SOON you're looking at a 2022-2023 release for Mahoyo 2 at the earlierst. Probably longer.

You might say "Well they probably did some work on it already", but you'd be wrong considering Koyama(Mahoyo's artist) kinda implied on twitter that he can't work on mahoyo 2 because "Nasu has it harder than me." meaning there isn't an anywhere near complete script. And honestly, would you want 2023 Nasu to rewrite one of his earlierst stories? He'll probably throw a timetraveling beast in there or some shit.

If who is in charge(Nasu) has a functioning brain it doesn't take a lot of time at all. The problem here is that Nasu is so autistic and his universe and lore is so hamfisted that the entire natural structure of how things are supposed to work is already broken by default.

Here's how things are supposed to work, in an ideal world:
1. You get hired to write a project. Whoever is in charge either gives you an outline of what he wants or lets you go crazy.
2. You're familiar with existing lore and naturally think stuff like "Wait, can I actual do this?" at which point you'd ask who is in charge for clarification. Who would then respond in a reasonable time.
3. Final check is made and very few problems should come up because you identified most of it during the writing progress already.

The problem here is that, Nobody except Nasu ACTUALLY knows his lore (see: shit like original Mahoyo draft being deleted off the planet) and he will NOT accept shit going against his lore. He also will not respond to any clarification requests in a reasonable time:(see:New Melty not happening because french bread couldn't get him to have a single story meeting with them since he'd rather work on mahoyo) He has also said himself in recent interviews that over the years he's taken a more hands-off approach to supervising FGO writing by others. And yet he still supervises everything that goes into the game and complains about how little time he has. What this actually means is that if Nasu hires you to write fate shit, He will let you write whatever you want and not involve himself with your work. But once it's time for the final check, he will give you 200 pages on what you cannot do and got "wrong". Which will make you rewrite everything and delay the product. He let people write fate content before ever explaining the differences between how the Tsukihime and Fate worlds function, even though he had defined it inside his head already for years.

Reading Melty manga. Is it explained anywhere how Sion can manipulate her etherlite into lifelike imitations of other characters that seem to match their power levels? Or what exactly that Riesbyfe she projected(?) was? I felt those were cool but other TM works are generally more careful to establish a method and effect for things that characters can do.

Is etherlite just really strong and manipulated via mental effort? Did Sion pull some shield fragments out of Wallachia which enabled her to produce a Riesbyfe stand that turns into a bullet? I'm noticing that some concepts and events in Melty's narrative are vaguely similiar to stuff that ended up in Fate.

I haven't started volume 7 but it also seems like Akiha getting trapped in Koha's dungeon was never resolved, unless that's mentioned afterward.

What Olga lacked is leadership skills (which is also what Kirsch is good at) rather than magecraft abilities i think. Really, Olga had nothing besides her "daughter of a Lord" or "future Lord" titles though maybe you can say she's rich i guess. One of a thing in magus society is that you barely have a chance to choose to do what you truly want but have to inherit your family's legacy. Olga said she didn't care about preserving the Human Order, protecting the future or anything like that, she just sought her own happiness but it's literally the job that she had to do after her father's death. She did try her very best and pushed the staff hard but it just didn't work like what she wanted, and the staff were also not really fond of her as result of that. Olga is indeed annoying and noisy but she's still a good girl at heart, so it's better for her to get out of the magical world and live like a normal person, even if she has to start everything from zero. And in the first place, magus society is "unhealthy" given by a lot of examples we have.
